So, i got an S23 today and everything was working like normal, until in the middle of the night, my data cuts off. On every other phone i own, my data works normally. I am on ST wireless, and this has never occured to me before. I have tried literally everything from restarting my phone to resetting the network settings. Only for data to be on for a few minutes before cutting off again. I am dumbfounded and tempted to return the S23 to the place i got it from. Is there a way to troubleshoot this?

The phone is on the latest software, the sim is clean and has no damage, and everything else with the phone works as intended. Is there something im missing/doing wrong?
Interesting issue, doesn’t happen with my S23 Ultra, Could be a hardware issue but I’d have no clue
Well i have things sorted out with my carrier, i called my provider and they made it an eSIM, since i couldnt transfer my old physical SIM over
Ah
Try:
- Using the SIM card from your S23 on other devices
- Using other SIM cards on your S23 and other devices
I did, worked fine
I got my number transferred to eSIM
It still disconnects randomly, just not as much as before
Restarting my phone usually does the trick, but there are some points where i have to do this every few minutes
It could just cut off at any point when im busy doing something
I think your phone is having hardware problem. Get it checked at an authorized service center for good
It may be in part because im in a rural area, if i go into town, my data works fine
But its not supposed to dc at all, it never did on my old phone
Strange. Make sure to enable 5G/LTE/3G/2G and not just 3G/2G
I have this issue on A54
Restart the phone
Iff dont work: turn off the phone, remove the SIM card
Turn on the phone and put the SIM card back
Its eSIM
I cant remove the sim
My phone doesnt have that option
damn you got cooked 😭
Ok so the issues seem to have resolved
I only lost reception with a data demanding app, deleting it fixed things
Glad it worked
Calls were originally bad on this phone, but it works now
It did take a couple of calls to my provider
But i do have a question, should i keep my S23 for the rest of its 2 year lifespan?
Look for something newer when Android 17 rolls around?
My Questions
I think it’s gonna live for another 3 years and not 2. Samsung may change its update policy
So i should keep it till then?
Yes
The plan was to keep it 2-4 years, so id aim for at least 3
It could all of a sudden get selected to get Android 18
It should be
They changed the update policy for S21 for example and it got One UI 7
The whole S21 Family?
Yep
Sorry for the late answer
I had that too with my S21 5G
When I brought it in for repair, they found a flex cable that had disconnected
It could be that
Now i gotta repair the phone
Or get a new one, screens cooked
Cant text or swipe properly
And i cant type y unless i do it a certain way
My luck as of late has just been horrendous
Welp the problem has returned
My data is starting to cut off randomly again, it seems like its somehow worse
I had already planned on replacing this one with a different one and see if its just a "This Specific Phone" problem
So far thats what it seems to be
I got a faulty phone
Yeah the problem is getting worse and its getting very annoying, ive contacted my provider multiple times, and they only made a temporary fix for the device
I cant even have the phone turned on for a few minutes to make a google search to open an app without the data connection dying
Its not just my data dying, its my ability to make phone calls
The phone often defaults to "Emergency Calls Only"
get a new one via return.
They dont have another S23 in stock
Just S23 FEs
And if i do find an S23, its out of my price range
And my phone's situation seems to be getting worse
Well i cant really find any S24s for the same price
S24 FE's maybe
If the S23 is at EOL next year, id assume so will the FE for that lineup
What would be my best option right now?
Reason: Bad word usage
Ive been looking at the s22s but im held back by "the battery life is bad"
So i went up to the 23s
Should i stick with looking at phones S23 and newer?
So im seeing a LOT of S23 FEs online, is the phone worth it?
Im not an intense mobile gamer, and need something good for the price
(I am in the US so id be getting the SD 8 Gen 1)
What's the budget again?
180-250 USD
Sorry for the late reply
Also yeah, this phone cant function at my home without wifi, so i need to get a new phone asap
It gets to a point where my service cuts off in the middle of a phone call, or i cant use my hotspot because my service decides to die on me
Its worse than before
Now it wont connect to service whatsoever
Get it checked at a service center is the only thing I could recommend at this point
