I did everything the tutorial said down to each pixel of the letters. It will not work and I don't understand why.
I utilized the skin creator and put the zip file both into the resourcepacks and datapacks folders. Both are registered but the mod itself will not use the custom skin.

The tutorial feels like it didn't cover everything that needed to be covered as well.

what ftf version you use

the skin creator is for 1.21.2 and up
