#Maps in books - New project

Wouldn't this have to be a mod?
The mod is the same as the data pack version, I don't think something like this can be done inside of data packs, though
aand as you can see, every project is accessible in vanilla, so not sure if this is something LES would make as of right now
Oh! Okay! I was just Kinda wondering if it even was possible, I know how difficult it is to make and maintain mods
I will say, this is a super cool idea, but the only way images can be loaded into datapacks is if they’re added via resourcepack… which would mean they couldn’t be procedurally generated
Yee that was what i was worried about 😅
However, as a mod this would definitely be cool. If LES branches out to mod development, might keep this in mind as a project—seems relatively simple as a starter
Thank you for your suggestion!
Well you're welcome!
This kinda already exists if I read correctly but not as a datapack..
Its a mod called Antique Atlas' and is super cool although hasnt been updated since 1.18.2 sadly..
Is available for both Fabric and Forge as well..

But I am gonna assume this isnt exactly what you meant by maps in books and I am gonna assume you are talking about when adding a page to a book that instead of just adding a blank page for text you add a map page which actually sounds really cool if thats also what you meant..
I just have to ask though if the above is the case are imagining the map be working like a normal map or it be like an image where you can just see the map but no player arrow?.
yes i meant so you can add a map into it almost like a picture or post-it-note, but this is cool to!
Okay, thought so..
I do like the idea of that and also I think there are mods that allow you to add photos into books so if you were to screenshot the map itself maybe you can do that as well..
But as an actual adding map to book feature I think that would be amazing.. ^u^
