This probably falls into the "nobody told me" category instead of the "bug" category, but now that I've switched on the nested docs plugin, I need to manually create a slug for top level pages, because the slug only gets generated after I select a parent. This isn't a complaint, just an observation, but it felt uncomfortable getting that validation error, because the error hides the unlock link on the slg field and requires a page refresh to clear the error, and I had to take a gamble that I wouldn't lose all my typing on the refresh.
