Payload Auth (better-auth deprecated?)

Hi

I'm looking for a easy way to integrate authentication with 2FA etc in my Payload CMS-app. I saw online a lot about better-auth as the package to go, but I noticed on NPM that it's deprecated, but if I look at their commits they are still committing. Is this package really deprecated or is it still a good choice? Otherwise what is an alternative?

Better-Auth is one of the de facto authentication libraries in the TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem right now - actively developed.

What you probably saw is a deprecation notice on a sub-package, not the main one.

The core library is very much alive. I'm using it in my own stack and would recommend it.
