Browse by Folder not working for Media

I have added a folder called Gallery where I have photos for display in a Gallery component, but in admin dashboard if I go to Browse by Folder, I see all my media folders there, but clicking on any of them does nothing. I'm only able to see media only from Gallery by setting a filter on the media collection. I am able to work like this, but curious as to what Browse by Folder is supposed to do if I can't browse by folder there.
