I have searched for this suggestion, but didnt see it. Marking a map if you have a pencil or pen manually it would be cool. If you passed something interesting just jot it down on it and make notes right in your journal that connects to your map.
If you die you loose your map with all your notes. And if other player finds it he or she might find some stuff based on your marks😊.

@ripe crystal What I did with dayZ I bought a physical map on there website and I had it laminated and used a non permanent marker on it.

I love this idea. That would be pretty neat to have

The right hand would move following the mouse.

I think just being able to mark on a map is solid enough, having a hand that follows your pencil and marks the map when you click is super extra imo.

and it's not difficult to do, it's actually quite simple

The issue I see with the moving hand is the blocking it would create when trying to view or draw. If you have this giant hand that's there for no other reason than just wanting to physically see it draw the markers, it could quickly become a nuisance. Causing players to yeet it to a corner of the screen to have full view.

Make it a togglable option for those that don't want it would work fine.

Or option to turn off

If there's an option, it's fine imo.
