#Adding different ammo types

Should consider adding different ammo types for the calibers you have in game.

My example here is using my own firearm, in this case a Glock 17C Model V. A 9mm pistol, but as shown I have two types of ammo:

  1. Silver colored casing: Hollow Point
  2. Golden colored casing: Full Metal Jacket

It’ll be nice to see different ammo with different effects on impact, maybe even tracers and more.

I think this is very exaggerated

I think just the weapon modifications are enough!

Having different types of ammo was so frustrating in tarkov, because you had to learn every and each weapon… to know which ammo is the best etc. that said i still support to mark the ammo differently because there probably will be different types of ammo, but please don’t make 10 types of ammo for each gun 2 or 3 is enough.

I would be more into the thing where every ammo actually would matter because in tarkov you just use ammo that is the best and its easy peasy

#

But from playing ABI their armor system sucks so much so it really matters how good the armor will be in Ardem

Absolutely, because learning different performance rounds for the same caliber is not hard, and requires 4 seconds of reading.

And anyways, what a lot of people don’t realize is high performance AP rounds like SSA AP (5.56x45) 55A1 (5.56x45), 7N1 (7.62x54MmR) M80A1 (7.62x51) 7N36 (9x19mm) .277 Fury (6.8x51mm) absolutely TRASHES your firearm and is debatably worse to run through your weapon systems than even dusty plinker rounds.

Plus they’re really lacking in overall flesh damage and cause minimal internal trauma compared to a FMJ, HP, SP, etc…and are really only practical when applied to heavily armored targets. That’s assuming the devs intend on taking ballistic physics to that extent, include body armor that can negate FMJ, HP, & SP & AP rounds.

If there isn’t body armor present that supports the need for different ammo types then no I do not want different ammo types.

Would be nice to shoot a zombie with hollow points and smoke him at 5 - 15 meters, then not having the same effect at 25 meters.

While if you shoot him a little farther than 15 meters with FMJ ammo you smoke him, but not the same damage.

Taking into perspective the difference between 12 Gauge 00 and Slugs in case of a shotgun would be great too :)))

# wet tusk Aye, I completely respect that. And would be nice to see some ballistics on the ...

I think a majority of gamers that play DayZ, Arma, EFT, even PJZ almost expect a variety of ammo types and in the big ‘26 games that only run one performance type per caliber is extremely lacking in the ballistic space. & yes I’m fully aware Ardem not JUST an FPS but 90%+ of modern games that include firearms have some form of variety with ammo types so I completely support this suggestion like I said as long as the armor is there to back it up.

Personally, I don't want an extremely realistic shooting simulator, I just want good mechanics with cool weapons and simple recoil.

#

wanting to push too hard for a tarkov ruins the fun

Ammo types are not a Tarkov specific thing lol......Metro, STALKER, ARMA, DayZ, PJZ, Battlefield, COD all have varying ammo types lol. Tarkov just does it better than half those games. Cept Stalker, nothing will ever take from my beloved STALKER.

#

Having varying ammo types is just a near standard industry practice atp in 2026 with how far FPS games have come lol.

#

Does it mean we need 9x19 RIP, QM, luger CCI, PSO, GT, M882, PST, AP 6.3, PBP?

No. But i would like a FMJ, HP, SP and AP variant for ammo types because why would any game that takes place in a post apocalyptic America have anything less?
