#Running speed

I just can say the same like evryon closly, same like in Project Zomboid.
agree
Disagree to some degree I’m pretty certain dayz cherno is 64kmx64km and it takes like 30 mins to get across the map running in a straight line which to me isn’t terrible but if you turn that 30 mins into an hour people will get bored because it will be a walking simulator.
DayZ has historically been referred to as a walking simulator and while I agree with that statement in your initial gear up stages, I disagree with it when you're fully geared.
The reason it's a walking sim is because it's too easy to just run from one side to another
People are easily able to just do it, so they do....
It should take hours to run 64km with full gear
Dayz is boring once you are geared
indeed
It just turns into PvP from miles away with zero interactions
I personally think making things as difficult as possible forces more interaction
Which is the direction id prefer to see a game like this take
i think little bit faster than zombie
is good
but same speed
nah nah nah
hell nah
Id rather see old school shuffle zombies with the occasional burst of speed over a short distance with a higher head count for difficulty
And a realistic movement speed to prevent people from just cheesing every gun fight with ant like movement spamming q and e looking like a fucking comedy skit
what do you think about zombies damage take
like think this
only head?
i think only head is good
other parts need to be pointless
and 1 shot to the head
is enough
yeah maybe like 3 bullets or smth
I find DayZ incredibly satisfying once you're fully geared. I love planning my trips, stopping for supplies, clearing towns, opening the map and planning a journey.
I play DayZ to survive, not to fight.
What are yalls thoughts on being able to choose between walking/jogging/running?
I agree I love map reading and planing routes. Problem with dayz is the incentive to kill is too high
when i think about dayz before i saw i get hyped
I really miss the days when U shot someone and 90% of the gear was ruined
Walking - W
Jogging - Someother button
Running - Shift?
DayZ is meant to be a slow paced survival game, it was never meant to be constant action.
In Star Citizen, the scroll where defines how fast you walk. Could be nice in Ardem?
I think tarkov has the perfect moment system
For walk, run, crouch, prone, lean and crouch height adjustment
Speed and weight
Etc
I think something like the newer arma for walking running and even crouching. Like say alt is to walk slow but have it controllable so alt scroll wheel down super slow alt scroll wheel all the way up regular walk crouch + scroll wheel can control crouch height same thing for sprint shift scroll wheel controls speed. But that other guy could be onto something with tarkov I’ve never played tho
99.9 percent of people cannot even walk 64km let alone run 10km without gassing out and needing a weeks recovery lol
yes. we dont need another arcade shooter survival
But the people who are surviving in these types of worlds and scenarios are....!!
Obviously not 64km multiple times a day but that further back my point
We shouldn't be traversing the whole map in an hour
After reading Ur comments again I think U where agreeing with me 😂
yesss,,running 64km is significantly more than running a marathon lmao
a normal untrained person cant do that distance with minimal gear and clothing
wait how big is ardem map anyways
btw this is coming from someone who trains in running lol. It's just nice when running is realistic, with realistic inertia and stuff like that because it forces a more realistic playstyle where you cant just run around like a super human fool and rambo everything down and avoid being shot by zig zagging and hopping around like an ultra human olympic athlete on crack
i get walking simulators like dayz can be tedious but dayz is also mostly empty forests lol. i feel, or at least hope Ardem will have much more interesting varying terrain and POIs to keep a player engaged
I think it should be like in scum i like it its pretty realistic somehow
Agree
Faster speed “kills” the whole vibe of survival not sayin that map starts to feel much smaller
Those people who wanna rush through the whole map without losing any point in hunger stats , just to grab a gun die and repeat should go and play cod of cs.
agreed. kills immersion
might as well go play an arcade looter shooter
