#Allow shooting from vehicles

I think shooting from vehicles would be a great touch - don’t want to call out any names but there’s a specific zombie game we know… that for some reason doesn’t allow shooting from your vehicle window and you’re pretty much stuck in a bad spot until you get out of your vehicle.

I don't see any reason why it would be missing; this isn't supposed to be GTA. I also think it would create a huge imbalance in the game, and by that I mean in PvP. A group of 3-4 players would be driving around the map shooting solo players and similar situations; you’d have to balance it out with something, like significant aim drift or high bullet spread, and so it probably defeats the purpose of adding it to the game at all. Just my opinion.

It could be also annyoing when player would camp in cars but thats normal in survival

I always love the insinuations on certain mechanics that claim to give either a solo player or a group of players the ability to go around the map killing players and thus making the game unfun.

That's literally the point of these types of games.

Yes survival is unfair! Where is the realism if everything is everytime peaceful and easy? If you want adventure play PVE or solo.

But sure, why should a post-apocalyptic RPG bother with some silly "resources" or "survival atmosphere"—that sounds like a lot of tedious work. A much better idea is to add driving-by shootings, because that works great in every genre, after all. And what if we run out of ammo or fuel? When have you ever actually seen anyone shooting while driving? But never mind, those are just details. Who would want to worry about survival in a post-apocalypse when they can have arcade-style action—after all, that’s what we have COD, Battlefield, and similar games for.

Nobody is asking for GTA.
The point is that in a survival game, mechanics do not have to be perfectly fair or comfortable for every situation. Shooting from vehicles is a normal feature to consider, and it can be balanced with sway, slower aiming, worse accuracy, recoil penalties, limited angles, or stamina/focus effects.

Survival is not supposed to feel safe and equal all the time. If cars become risky because people can shoot from them or into them, that adds tension instead of removing it.

And let’s be honest: if someone starts shooting at you while you’re driving, what exactly are you supposed to do? You’re forced into a dead spot until you get out of the vehicle, which is just awkward and clunky game design. A limited ability to shoot from vehicles would not only be offensive, but defensive too. In a survival game, having no real way to respond from inside a car feels less immersive than giving players at least some limited option to fight back, especially if it comes with clear penalties and limitations.

Notably at the driver, causing a crash and possibly killing the others in it.

lol all I'm picturing is players trying to be cool and doing drive bys but accidentally shooting the driver from the back (because they didn't think about friendly fire) seat and causing a wreck 😂

I believe this is a very valid request. While you can achieve this with mods in Dayz, it’s not a part of the core game. When you’re driving down the road, people can easily light up your entire vehicle and kill you. Without this feature being part of the game, you don’t have any way to protect yourself or fight back. Therefore, if PvP is part of the game, it should be a core option.

This is interesting and if they can balance it right should be great. Is the game gonna have realistic bullet drop or bullet drop at all. That in itself would do the balancing for itself because if it does it’ll be hard to know where to aim while moving also given cars do t have much space I think people could only be kinda accurate while shooting forward or backward but broadside would be a challenge gotta learn how to lead people. Car fights sound insanely fun and interesting.

Or just a car with a mounted gun on top, like a jeep or a pickup so theres something special people will try to get their hands on.
