So I am progging Ansurek with the guild, but I can't seem to actually get above green parses (I know that's not what you're looking for in prog kills, but I just want to do more damage than what I am currently doing)

Some points I am struggling with are:
Target selection, I am using Wowanalyzer to help me select targets for my EM windows. However, the players I buff are not consistent enough with their damage output, and if averaging, there are usually 2-3 ties per window.
Also due to my assigned position in the raid (melee stack), I often can't get in range of the furthest range players for prescience.

Cooldown usage, I don't need to use breath to escape the first roots, but I do need it for the third one. This add usually dies before I can get full value of my Temporal wounds

Talent build:
I need to jump the second set of essences, hence Weyrnstone, also, I don't believe I can make the best use of Molten Embers, so I am using an easier to execute build, but if it's a severely limiting factor I can change

Anyone able to help me? https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/1Km7cyTfBNjHv4XC?fight=30&type=damage-done

Lots to unpack here.
First of all, Wowanalyzer is not gospel. It's a great tool to help you get the basics done, but the fact that it can't adapt to your own EM windows (for example, your first EM of the fight lasted a minute long, yet Wowanalyzer would've told you to have 2 separate windows) hurts quite a bit. Unfortunately, not much can be done, you'll have to get the hang of some cooldown timings.
Second, the problem is not the fact that you're avoiding molten embers, but you're also playing without a talent in the bottom row. Molten Embers is harder to execute in a dungeon enviroment because cooldowns tend to desync, but in raid it basically plays itself as long as you're staying active.
Third, if weyrnstone is not giving you any troubles due to the tight timings, that's fine, but i'd highly recommend just grabbing the portal with everyone else. Maybe go through and rescue someone far away to safety.
Fourth, unfortunately Ansurek is a significantly better fight for Devastation and considerably better to squeeze value out of it compared to Aug, specially if you have a roster with inconsistent skill levels. If you really want to commit to aug on that fight, that's fine, but be warned that it's not easy to be productive.

The reason I'm playing aug is because I haven't played Dev at all this season and am doing ~900k avg dps, which is kinda mediocre.

Thanks for the other things

#

Also, what do you mean with the two separate windows, where can I see that?

wowanalyzer will say your first em will be from 3s to 30s, the next from 30s to 1 minute

#

but our first em lasted from 3s all the way to 1 minute

#

which is correct, but wowanalyzer would've picked you different targets if that was the case

So it's one of those things where you let EM drop on purpose?

#

Like I'm trying to improve, but I'm not sure where to get the right info that's not like literally what I'm doing right now (asking you guys)

no, you're correct

#

thats the thing

Oh, so ideally what I do is I filter 1:00->1:30~ manually in the logs?

#

Or whatever time EM is usually back

yea basically
