#Augmentation Log Review

Heya. First off, key DPS can be a little finnicky because it depends on the size of the pulls (Bigger pulls naturally means more DPS) and for Aug, it also depends on how much your other 2 DPS are blasting since a big part of our damage is a % of theirs. But there's always room for improvement. My tips just based on a quick look at the logs:
- Maintain 100% uptime on Prescience and Blistering Scales. Its free and easy damage
- As Scalecommander, you need to be sending Breath of Eons basically on cooldown. You dont delay it to line up with other classes
- Your Bombardments and Eruption damage is really low. After you press Breath of Eons, you basically need to be prioritising spamming Eruptions to extend Bombardments as much as possible. It's a positive feedback loop: More bombardments = more damage = more cooldown reduction = more Breaths/Upheavals = more Bombardments. You can also have Bombardments up on two targets at once, which doubles the damage and cooldown reduction effect, and the +1 second extension will affect both.
I suggest going to the cleave target dummies in Dornogal and practising this rotation until it's muscle memory:
Pre-cast 2x Prescience (In a dungeon you should be doing this while running to the next pack, so might as well build the muscle memory)
Ebon Might
Tip the Scales
Rank 3 Fire Breath
Breath of Eons
Cancel Breath of Eons as soon as you apply debuff to enemies
If you have Burnout from entering combat, cast Living Flame as you're falling (Insta cast with Burnout)
Upheaval at the lowest rank you need to hit all enemies
Eruption on the highest HP enemy
Retarget while casting Eruption and cast again onto the 2nd highest HP enemy
Spam Eruption as a priority until you run out of dragon juice
You should notice an immediate difference in your opener damage, buff durations, and Breath of Eons cooldown. If you do it well, it takes off around 30 seconds, which means its up for almost every pack.
Also, this might be a bit controversial for some but I suggest taking the point out of Inferno's Blessing and putting it in Blistering Hide. Inferno's Blessing is super weak, and Blistering Hide basically just gives the tank +150k DPS for free, and its easy damage at this stage while you're still learning the class and your allies arent good enough to outscale the tank DPS increase.
@teal sierra just pinging you to make sure you see this
@hardy jackal hey thanks for this. I’ll definitely apply. Can you tell me more on how bombardments work? Is it breath of eons that apply them and then eruption extends them? Does anything else apply or extend bombardments?
Why do I need to target eruption on highest HP enemy and then again on 2nd highest.
What do you mean by BOEs takes off around 30seconds? I believe the cooldown is 1.5 minutes long without checking.
I’ll definitely change that talent sounds good.
I know the rotation and can do it all day standing still at the dummies but in dungeons there’s so much going on and sometimes I’m just taking too long to cast spells after applying prescience and EM. That’s where I struggle because for most of the spells you have to be still.
Bombardments are applied to your primary target by Mass Eruption, which is generated when you cast an Empower skill. So Fire Breath and Upheaval. You can store 2x Mass Eruption charges.
Casting Eruption extends all active Bombardments by 1 second.
Every time Bombardments does damage, it reduces the cooldown of your Breath of Eons based on how many enemies it hit.
By targeting two different enemies when you have Mass Eruption ready, you apply 2 Bombardments, rather than just 1. This means more damage and cooldown reduction, since your +1 extension from Eruption will apply to both equally.
The reason I bring up the rotation is because I checked a few of your Breath windows, and your casts were all over the place. It's really just about building that muscle memory so you don't struggle in dungeons with it.
Don't forget about Hover! It's our best ability and incredibly broken. It let's you cast while moving, and so you can dodge swirlies and run around and still cast with zero DPS loss.
With Mass eruption I’d be hitting up to 3 enemies right? So why wouldn’t bombardments work so that two different enemies have them to reduce cooldowns and increase damage?
Thanks!
Bombardments only applies to the primary target of your Mass Eruption. If you Mass Eruption the same target twice, it only stacks the duration. So you need to change your primary target for your second Mass Eruption to get the 2nd Bombardment up
