new evoker trying to git gud, help pls

Hello guys, I’m a baby evoker trying to improve, been looking at wowanalyser trying to get my casts to 100% and the dragon rage windows without any mistakes, but I still feel like my damage compared to the rest of the group is lacking. Im parsing okay, especially in heroic, but guild says I should be topping meters as evoker and as you can see I most definitely am not.

I’ll add to this that I’m really confused on DR timing a lot of the time. How big a deal is it make sure my DR timing is perfect for when the boss is low?

Generally it’s best to just fire your dragon rage on cooldown UNLESS you know you won’t get another use.

The kazzara kill is almost as ideal as you are gonna get. Your 2nd DR probably got cut a little short. Your damage profile looks descent at a glance but your spiked tongue needs to go. You have a large@amount of vers as well and it appears to me that evokers will have large fluctuations in parse just by how much vers they have at the expense of better stats but that’s anecdotal

The other thing I noticed is you gained EB 40 times. But only cast dis 42 times. Which means you either aren’t spending your EB’s efficiently or you aren’t spending your essence

Hey man, huge thanks for this! Something I struggle with is during DR and Lust I sometimes have capped essence and 2 free cast procs. Should I "early chaining" just to spend the essence, and then get more CDR on the stuff, or is it a waste to clip casts in this scenario? I'm guessing that's what your last point eludes to?
