I'm terrible for a 410 evoker. Need to improve!

Trying to work out why it parses so low. I think gearing is ok and i missed a few shattering stars. But can't see what would push me up higher?

Hey!
I watched your log, and here is things that can be improved in my opinion:

1. Talents
   You should pick [Unravel] and use it on big elems/raz better with a [Shattering Star] pre-cast.

2. Gear
   It seems like you overcapped Speed and greatly lowered Crit. Crit is very good for AOE dmg, and most of the dmg for Evoker on Raz is AOE.

Use Potion of power.
Use better Phials. (Static Empowerment wont work good during a dynamic fights)
Get correct stones, you gained 3 diff Lariat's buffs.
Get trinket from SBG.
For further play (mythic raids and 20+ keys), i recommend to wear on Avoidance enchants over Move speed.

3. Rotation
   Use [Fire Breath] 1 stack on single target
   Use [Fire Breath] max stack on MULTI target (better with Tip the Scales)
   Improve [Fire Breath] uptime on Raz.
   It will help you to get and use more [Essence Burst]

Don't miss Shattering stars (better use by cooldown for a start).
Don't forget about Deep Breath.

Thanks, much appreciated! Going to run with most of the suggestions, but I have some followup questions;

• I overindexed on haste, so got buzzing runes for a slight crit buff. Assuming I dont want to lower mastery, i should be fairly even on crit & haste?
• Lariat stones - I thought having different stones is better (might be preheat's evoker guide from beta). Guessing this is outdated from a scan of #devastation. Should I stack mastery+haste in all slots (other than the single int stone)? I have 4 slots overall incl lariat

Simming it, looks like Primary + (multiple) Mastery/Haste is the best option for Lariat

Yeap, it looks like most high rated devokers take Mastery+Speed gems.

I think, since pre-patch and till some of the last patches, we didn’t get crit at all. It changed when https://www.wowhead.com/spell=370845/spellweavers-dominance was improved

It was about a 1k damage increase so cheers. Last question - how does fire breath uptime on Raz help get more essence bursts?

You're right, normally nohow.
I compared your buffs uptime to gigavokers and it said you have a low Essence Burst uptime. I tried to understand why, and found this window

this was when you stood with marks and dpsd a Raz's shield

So, you wasted fire breath uptime, it didn't brings you proced living flames,
proced living flames didn't bring you double essence

That makes perfect sense. Tipped firebreath in DR is a no-no and i need to get out of the habit of using it

Yeap! And also you will mess with this talent if there is no Firebreath on a target
