[Help] 5.8 client freezes and crashes right after login

Hello,
I am currently using the Genshin Impact 5.8 client to connect to my Grasscutter private server.
However, every time I log in, the game freezes for a moment and then crashes back to the desktop.
What could be the cause of this issue, and how can I fix it?

This is due to the registry key. You can just delete the key to fix it. Do note that you cannot play with a 5.8 game without a 5.8 server. Your server and game version must match. If you have not built your own 5.8 server with your own protos and resources, you won't be able to use that 5.8 game client.

I'm just saying the same thing that is said for any and all versions. The only thing that differentiates one version from another on the server-side is protos and resources.

There is no publicly available 5.8 ready-made server. You would have to build it yourself.

By learning what protobufs are (https://protobuf.dev/), what deobfuscation is, and how the game/server use protos. Then you can get started on the very basics in deobfuscating protos, building, testing, and repeating over and over until you get the most basic functions working. Alternatively you can try to find (or make your own) tools to assist in doing so.
There are many threads talking about it, and if you're actually interested then the development channel will be better for you.

There is no one specific tutorial, you need to learn what they are first. Then you can look at the existing info on deobfuscation and testing. You will spend a lot of time on it (give yourself a couple weeks to start since you know nothing right now) and you will have to rebuild from src many, many times.
