Hello, so to begin I am all new in the discord and in the software of Grasscutter, I have several questions and possible requests:

  • so first of all, is it possible to host the server directly on your PC?
  • how are the saves managed and can they be transferred between versions?
  • Do we have a French translation as in the original game?
  • And finally, what content is not available unlike the original game?
And if someone can help me (in french if possible only if the answer at my first question was positive) to setup this game ?

And possibly replayable events ?😶

  1. Yes of course, you would have that info if you read the github page or the pinned thread
  2. Mongodb and yep of course
  3. If the original game has a language then of course you have it still, the game is the game, you use the normal game to play on private
  4. A lot
  5. #1025543438604710018 message again, github page or setup guide from pinned thread - it's very simple and straightforward

As for events, some maybe, depends on a lot of things like if the client even has the cutscenes/scenes/data or if it needs special packets

If you need a video tutorial instead then you can follow this one made by Salmon:

Okay so i went into the game, i launch the first quest with a command and all of the next ones will follow ? And i don't see the resin in the map (same for cook recipes)

If you want to do quess then don't start quests manually. You should have used the Questin all in one, but if you didn't: Go to your Grasscutter folder, open config.json, and change questing to true

#

To use recipes you need to get some first

Okay and if i wanna reset an account progression ?

timber magnet

Just use a new account name to log in

Okay

And i have a last question, if i play for example in 4.0 and after when the 4.1 or the 4.2 are released, the save file will be playable in the new version ?

#

A 3.2 save can be played on 4.0 ? (for example)

timber magnet
#

You continue playing on the same progression/save every update right. Wouldn't it be really bad if you had to start over your official account every month when the update happens

sly bone
#

You're right

The same thing goes for private. Your data has nothing to do with the version of the game you play on, only if there are significant differences in database fields (like if you reverted many versions)

Okay, i read on another server than the 3.2 will be more stable than the 4.0, it's true ?

timber magnet
#

of course it's true

#

You are probably talking about GIO right? That's leaked official files, it will always be more stable than GC

#

GC is all manually written and implemented by contributors

#

If you just want to play on GIO, connect to ps.yuuki.me with a 3.2 client. If you want to localhost it, you won't get any help for it here, and it's very different from hosting GC

#

3.2 GC is still more stable than 4.0 GC, but not anywhere close to GIO still

sly bone
#

Okay, but no i see it on yuuki's server ✌️

#

But it's interesting do you have any informations about GIO ? I don't know it at all

timber magnet
#

Difference being since it's hosted as a private server you have access to commands, and then rates and such are enhanced (by the server owner) for a better playing experience

sly bone
#

Ok, I looked a little on my side but I feel that after 3.2 we don't
really have more GIO version

timber magnet

Yes as said before, GIO is leaked official server files. The big leak was in 3.2, and there's not constant leaks so you can't just keep getting newer gio
