I updated the grasscutter files to 3.6 but I can't connect to the server which is 3.5

You mean the game? Your grasscutter isn't updated

You can follow the same steps you did to get 3.5, to get 3.6

You do not have latest Grasscutter files

Ah right 3.6 is a separate branch currently, but still don't rely on the "releases" on github, they aren't really the latest

That would have gotten you 3.6

You just didn't change the jar in settings

Though I will tell you, you would be better off using the All-in-one from the menu right above that

That goes always, it is always better to use the all-in-one than the individual downloads

When the all in one is done extracting it will automatically set the new jar in settings

You need to make sure your current Grasscutter is stopped so that it can be overwritten with the new one, as well
