I can't find the banners.json

I see everyone talking about how to modify it but i can't see it in my appdata folder or anywhere really

grasscutter\data is where it is, and you won't have one there already if your setup was not updated from an older version where it was generated there on first run. You can copy the one in grasscutter\src\main\resources\defaults\data to the grasscutter\data folder or you can download one from #resources and put it in grasscutter\data

If you downloaded grasscutter from cultivation then yes that would be %appdata%\cultivation\grasscutter\data

You still need to type reload into the console to reload the server

oh i tried to change it in the folder where my server is and it worked

i restarted it

it doesn't appear to work when i change it in app data but works when i change it in the actual server folder

Yes you need to change it in your server folder

oh but then its not in the appdata folder for me

i did specify a grasscutter.jar location, is that why?

Anytime you see something that says in the grasscutter folder or "grasscutter\any folder" it just means your server folder (which is just called grasscutter since that's what the server is) just for future reference
