When in game on a Meta Quest 3s the meta button on the right controller doesn't work to get you out of the game to close it. Workaround is to press the passthrough button on the headset.

This is a strange one. @civic bear

Yeah, this is a weird one. Pn both Quest 3 and Quest 3S I’m seeing expected behavior where pressing the Meta button on the right controller brings up the Meta OS with the option to resume or close the Glassbreakers app.

Since it’s working as intended for me, I’m curious if you might have a unique hardware or software setup causing this. A few things to check on your end:

Controller Remapping: Have you changed any controller bindings via experimental features or accessibility settings? Double-check under Settings > Movement & Navigation in the Quest menu to ensure the Meta button is assigned normally.

Hand Tracking Mode: Sometimes if hand tracking is toggling on/off automatically, the system might deprioritize controller input. Try disabling hand tracking entirely to test.

Guardian Issues: Rarely, guardian calibration can mess with system inputs. Try resetting your play area under Settings > Boundary > Clear Guardian History and see if that changes anything.

System Software Updates: Ensure both your Quest 3S system software and Glassbreakers app are fully up to date.

Reboot + Re-pair Controllers: A fresh reboot followed by unpairing and re-pairing your right controller can sometimes clear up flaky input issues.

Also: if you’re able, could you test this behavior in other apps or even in the Quest Home menu? Knowing whether the Meta button fails only in Glassbreakers vs. across the system would help narrow things down.

I realize the Preview Weekend is over. So if you are continuing to have these issues at launch, please run through the trouble shooting I have provided and let us know if you are still experiencing the issue.

Thank you for reporting. Sorry you were experiencing this issue, but happy you got to play and found a work around.

All the software is up to date. It's only happening in glassbreakers. When I pressed the meta button, instead of bringing up the Meta OS it showed me the outlines of both controllers. When I pressed the meta button again they went away and i could continue the game. It felt a bit like it wanted to show the Meta OS screen but like it was behind the glassbreakers UI. I haven't remapped or changed anything on the controllers, but I'll try and verify the settings on my system tomorrow.

Aplogies that I have not yet had the time to get on my VR headset to answer your other questions. I'll do my best to get to it tonight.

No worries at all. Totally fine to take your time

It's standard Quest3S hardware with the latest software update I have access to (V79). The Meta button is assigned normally. And as said I have never had this issue with other apps. And now for the really strange part. It seems I can still load up Glassbreakers and play an AI match. And right now, the meta buttons works as I should. o.O The whole preview weekend it didn't. I will definitely keep an eye on this if it returns when the game releases.

Apologies was out yesterday, just saw this update. Well I am glad its working again. However you should NOT be able to launch the game and play an AI match. Would you mind giving me some additional info, when you are free:

  • What is your Meta Account Name?
  • Would you mind going to your Apps Settings and Selecting Release Channels and tell me what info is displayed?

There's so many names in the meta account center its confusing. Do you mean my Meta Horizon profile username? I should be able to get a screenshot of the game version and release channel screen uploaded later today.

Seems I can't upload screenshots so I'll describe what I see. I could still play an AI match or the tutorials earlier today. My Quest 3S headset has been updated to V81. It says my Glassbreakers version is 1.2025.10.144643 / version code 115991. My Meta Horizon profile username is JudoSensei which is also the name displayed inside Glassbreakers. When I press on the Release Channels button (Releasekanelen in my Dutch version) I get a popup with no additional information. Just a greyed out Confirm button and a Close button.

Thanks again for taking the time to flag this Tomatoes! I want to make sure you’re having a smooth and positive experience, and sometimes lingering install data can cause weird behavior, especially after a meta app build release channel has been closed.

Would you mind trying to uninstall and then reinstall the build from your library to see if it still launches successfully? This will help us confirm whether the entitlement is still active on your account, or if it’s just a local caching issue.

No worries if it still opens, that info will help us dig deeper with the rest of the team. Really appreciate your help with this!

Let me know how it goes!

Ok this morning I did the following:

  • Played an AI game to test if that still works (and it did)
  • Uninstalled the game
  • Rebooted the headset

But I don't see any way to reinstall the game now. In the store it doesn't allow me to download as it just lists it as "preordered" and it's not in my library anymore.

Can't wait for the game to come out to play it for real. Had my headset with me to my son yesterday and he's also very excited for the game now after doing the first tutorial and a short ai game. He was unable to play on his own headset in the test weekend because of the 18+ restriction. We're excited to see how this game plays in co-op mode.

Excellent! Thanks so much for testing that out, your note helps a ton. It looks like everything worked as expected: uninstalling the app cleared the old entitlement, and seeing “Preordered” in the store confirms access is now fully closed out.

Also, we’re so glad to hear your son had a great time with the tutorial! We can’t wait for you both to jump into co-op together once the game is out, it’s going to be a rad experience for sure. Cant wait to hear what ya think

Appreciate you flagging the issue, the help you provided and kind words, more soon!

@dusty haven After launch if you have any questions about playing co-op please drop any questions in the Glassbreakers channels. We want everyone to be able to enjoy those new modes!
