You can donate part of your military maybe 100mil or more to a country you want to support and keep as your ally e.g France gets attacked by Germany and Britain could send over 50mil of there army and it leaves there army and doesn't become part of Frances army until it reaches there capital city then it converts into the French army and they can fight Germany better and resist attacks
