#Tripod Stands Revisited

I'm probably going to get flamed to death for this, but if I'm being honest I'm finding tripod stands to be just a bit over-powered. I don't hunt IRL, so perhaps some "real" hunters could comment on the issue.

I have had animals walk right up to the tripod stand and never spook. They stare at me, but they don't spook. I can see that happened in a "tree" stand, but in a tripod stand seems off to me. In addition, I can set a tripod stand up as close as 120 yards, and jump in it, and utilize it without spooking a herd bad enough for it to run off.

I would say that the stands need a longer setup/takedown time, and likely just a touch lower masking of smell/sound. I can see getting a deer inside 20 yards in the right conditions, but right under the stand feels like a bit much.

Any avid stand hunters got any real world experience they can share? I could be way off here.

EDITED: I play on Adventure level.

Ahh... where can I find that info so I don't post needlessly like this again?

Thanks for the reply.
