#Australia map idea! šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ

I think it’s likely our next map is Australia because in the Q&A one question the devs chose was ā€œare there plans for an expansion set in Australiaā€ instead of something like ā€œcan you reveal where the next map takes placeā€ which is probably a much more common question. Seems like a hint that they specifically choose to answer one about if Australia is coming. Ok let’s get into the animal roster.

Total animals: 14
4 returning
10 new (marked with a star)

Tier 1:
European rabbit*
Magpie goose*
Wild duck

Tier 3:
Red fox

Tier 4:
Dingo*
Hog deer*

Tier 5:
Fallow deer
Feral goat*
Red kangaroo*
Rusa deer*
Feral hog*

Tier 6:
Red deer
Banteng*
Sambar deer*

My explanation for why I picked these animals is in the replies because of the limited word count. Here’s pictures of all the new animals that would be on this map:

this would be a great selection because after tikamoon plains which had 5/12 animals be tier 6 big game I think it’s time for some more small-medium size animals. This list includes 5/6 of the Australian deer species, you could argue that chital/axis deer are more unique than Rusa but it’s down to preference. I was debating whether to include water buffalo or sambar deer as a third tier 6 animal but I went with sambar because we don’t really need 2 massive buffalo/cattle on the same map and we just got the Cape buffalo not to long ago. explanation for some of the smaller picks: I chose the European rabbit because it’s a very common pest in Australia and we haven’t gotten a new dlc rabbit/hare. I could have added stubble quail in there but we just got helmeted Guinea fowl as another upland game bird in the last map. For the feral hogs they do look kinda similar to the wild boar on trans, and we did just get warthogs in the last map but these piggies could be unique if they are given brighter (pinkish) Coulers and some darker spots, also including the axis/chital deer instead of them would seem like a more interesting choice but with so many deer and no pigs the maps variety of animals would be decreased. People will not agree that I didn’t include salt water crocodiles but I’m trying to keep this list realistic and I just don’t see them adding crocodiles. That’s my idea for an Australia map, leave your ideas in the comments. Sorry for rambling on so much I just have a lot to say about this great map!

I also don’t see why Stubble Quail on this map would be a problem,we need way more bird hunting.

They would be nice yes but I limited myself to only adding 14 animals because that feels like what the devs would do. Obviously I had to include the magpie geese and I chose to go with a rabbit instead of quail because it’s been a while since we have gotten one of those. Also for the wild duck I included it because without it the map would have 11 new animals and only 3 returning which does not feel like the ā€œmix of old and new speciesā€ that the devs said these next 2 dlc would have.

Well I didn’t quite put that much effort into researching the territory’s of these animals and seeing if they would live together. On this map they could just be in 2 different biomes on opposite sides of the map or we instead get another kangaroo like the eastern gray kangaroo, would those fit more?

I suppose Rusa could be replaced for axis chital deer. Other than size the Rusa are quite similar to sambar so axis might be a bit more unique and fit in with the red kangaroos more

@silent thicket especially cause he's kind of an ass anyway

But Australian feral pigs do have mostly black but they do have different fur types too

So then why are you hating it then

Why did you say it's no different then

So you were talking about species and I was talking about landscapes

# frigid knot So you were talking about species and I was talking about landscapes

We have seen time and time again,Cotw players do not care about landscapes they want to sit up in their tripods and mass genocide deer, which ties into Landscapes,I mentioned a great way to differ from Srp is ā€œThe only difference they could make between Srp and this Montana map is set it in fall or winterā€ but yet you seemed to ignore that.

I saw that

I'm not blind maybe abit stupid sometimes

Well abit nearsighted

@silent thicket I'm sorry for acting the way I did

Unacceptable behaviour

You have good points I was simply just blinded by arrogance and anger I don't know why I just don't know myself very well tbh

I wouldn't mind it

Ok we could get Water buffalo and Saltwater crocs as tier 6 too...

#

Sika deer are also needed

Axis Deer would be the better choice for an Australian reserve: They are one of the 6 deer species that have successfully established populations in Australia (quite a few species including sika were introduced to Australia but the only successful introductions were the Sambar, Rusa, Red, Fallow, Axis & Hog Deer). Sika Deer could work for a reserve in New Zealand, another part of Europe or Japan (Which has 2 indigenous subspecies: the Japanese Sika that was introduced to other parts of the world and the massive Yezo Sika of Hokkaido Island, and both are over-populated in Japan alongside wild boar and a few other species)

I’ll be honest good list but why no Water Buffalo blackbuck or Axis deer those would be good to have on an Australian map

India is illegal to hunt anyways so Pakistan would be an option but I doubt we’ll see a map there but Texas has them there I think Argentina among others

Argentina no doubt is the best one for blackbuck and axis deer etc

#

Such an amazing array of species

But I’m saying that cotw players ask for places in Asia Greenland ect ect but never show up so maybe woth will deliver a map set somewhere in Asia

True but jeez I had to delete all my progress so 6 years of diamonds rares great 1 down the toilet. But anyways back to the topic at hand Pakistan would be good so I hope it comes well plus there’s Markhor too

Perhaps this line by Malachi is a hint to the upcoming Australia map being set in Victoria? 'Small state' could only refer to Tasmania or Victoria.

"Of all the states in Australia Victoria offers the most huntable land with roughly 3.14 million hectares of state forest accessible to licensed hunters."

Species could include: Stubble Quail, Wood Duck, European Rabbit, Red Fox, Feral Pig, Feral Goat, Chital Deer, Hog Deer, Fallow Deer, Rusa Deer, Sambar Deer, Red Deer and of course, Eastern Grey Kangaroo.

Although, I may be reading too much into one line of dialogue. Perhaps they will go for a tropical location (QLD or Northern Territory) with Crocodiles and Banteng like COTW did? I do think there are too many references to Australia for them to not be working on a map there.

Personally I’d Like To See A Red Desert Based Map With Red Kangaroos, Feral Camels, Feral Goats, Brumbies, Dingoes, Scrub Bulls, And Others.

Brumbies and camels sound weird though I know you can hunt them but they don't sound like animals that would be hunted

Dingoes are a threatened species. I could see camels as a possibility though.

silent thicket
#

Assuming this takes place on private land, this would be perfectly legal as they are considered pests.

#

Most hunting takes place on private land in Australia so this wouldn’t be a problem.

foggy oyster
#

Yeah it’s only legal to shoot dingoes on private land. Are the current maps considered private land?

silent thicket
#

If you want any maps in this game to have some sort of value there’s going to need to be some ranches/Private Land,I don’t understand why that’s a problem.

foggy oyster
#

It just didn’t occur to me that it was legal to shoot dingoes on private property until now. Knowing that, I can see them being included.
