#The higher the difficulty, the less time animals should spend at need zones

Currently animals are almost always found at need zones. This is boring and makes the animals seem robotic.
I propose something like:

Hiker, Explorer - 90% of the time at need zones, same as now
Adventurer - 50%
Hunter, Ranger - 10%

When not at a need zone just let them roam their territory freely, within 1km of the herd icon, the previous need zone or the next need zone.

I don't want to know in advance where the herd is every hunt. I want to actually have to HUNT them.

I also don't want any 2 hunts to feel the same. One of the reasons theHunter Classic is so successful is because no 2 hunts are the same! Sadly the same can't be said of WOTH right now

Make hunter 30% and adventurer 70% and we have deal 🙂 , i mostly like to roam around and hunt so for me the percentages dont matter that much

I actually really like this idea plus it makes sense to have a harder more realistic hunting experience with the most realistic difficulty plus for players who play explorer it's actually a win-win

The idea of the herd icon being just an indication where they could be found is what i would really like to see happening in this game, no needzones, just a general area where they roam, they could drink, eat and rest at what ever time they please. The herd might linger at one spot one day a bit longer than normal but the next day they hardly stay put for a moment. The amount of grazing could be a component for an area to be more used by the animals or not, if there's less to eat they stay for shorter period of time or ignore that spot for a while when they stayed too long and ate the whole place clean. Hunting pressure could also be factored in for the areas they frequent.

Don't worry NRG will not remove their precious needzones but who knows, maybe they introduce a different mode in the future. After well over 1500 hours playing this game i am looking for something more than the next five star alone. Kak2R's video inspired me to turn off basically everything except binoculars readings and i must say it feels like a whole other game now. This game forces you to go from needzone to needzone which is a shame since these maps are beautiful yet there are places animals hardly or ever visit. The predictability is also something that bothers me but this game hinges on it due to herd management.

I am on Ranger mode and have turned off all the need zones in my map filter and literally just hike all day. The only we I find animals is by listening and scoping on the binoculars

that's what I often do too. you can try this: start from the same campsite twice in a similar direction at a similar time and i virtually guarantee you the audio clues you hear will lead you to the same herd of animals at the same need zone BOTH times. it's that bad. really destroys any sense of spontaneity. feels scripted as hell.

you can even try going north from the campsite the 1st time and east the 2nd time. if there is a need zone 400m (or less) northeast of the camp, with animals present, you will hear their audio clues on both routes. the 1st time, you discover them, it's fun, it feels organic. the 2nd time? nope

Yeah I understand the frustration, I think because my ADHD riddled memory will never remember what animals are where it will always seem like a brand new herd to me. But the lack of dynamic movement with herds coupled with the fact they hardly move after you've just killed one of the herd isn't great. I never track where the herd goes after I shoot one but it's a tad silly how often I start trekking to my next waypoint and bump in to them a couple hundred meters down the way.
