Now that this game is introducing more chassis like guns, especially with the new 6.5 creedmore it would be fun to have bipods and suppressors be added to the attachments on the guns. The bipods can stabilize the gun 15% more while being prone and the suppressors can reduce noise by 15-20% depending on certain aspects. Also you can have muzzle brakes for the bigger guns to help reduce recoil. But these come at a cost. First the suppressor reduces the effectiveness of the rifle by 15-30% depending on the specs of the bullets. The bipods would have a limited range of motion. Like you can't do a 360 degree turn on the ground when prone. Lastly the muzzle brake would increase the noise levels by 15-20%.

I agree but the downsides of those attachments seem too unrealistic. It would be better for bullet velocity to be reduced for suppressors but other than that suppressors don’t have much of a drawback. And suppressors (most at least) don’t reduced the amount of force or energy the cartridge puts out, it just dispels the gases differently. A good debuff would be accuracy as suppressors can be heavy at times and the way gases dispel gives off odd recoil.

Actually supressors are paired with subsonic rounds (slower moving rounds as not to break the sound barrier). So yah a slowed down bullet should have less impressive ballistics all around so IMO decreasing its effectiveness/range would be pretty realistic.
Love the idea of getting a choice on muzzle devices. I have an IRL muzzle break you turn off/on with a simple twist so can choose if you want its effects or not. It sure is a LOT louder when the brake is active haha

i forgot about subsonic rounds but wouldnt that just drop the tier of animal the rifle could kill? im not against the idea but id just want to understand how it would work.

I'm also thinking if they make ammo changes next year like the ability to make your own loads. That's when the suppressors and muzzle brakes can be implemented.

I don't know just how much decreased energy subsonic rounds would have from one chambernig to another only that it will be binging the round to below the speed of sound to keep it subsonic. Yes the decrease could very easily bring the tier down but again the amount will require looking at ballistics data and be specific/unique to each cartridge/chambering.

I wouldn't phrase it as "are paired with"... Suppressors can be paired with subsonic ammunition to decrease the rifle report further, but suppressors do not require subsonic ammunition.

Furthermore, most suppressors you'll find on the market (i.e. non-integral) actually increase muzzle velocity rather than decrease it as the gases are contained in a limited space, extending the period during which these gases aid the projectile in its forward velocity. However this effect is generally negligible.

That gave me an idea! What about integrally suppressed rifles? Are those even used in hunting?
