No new maps. New gear and a little duck behavior/mapping changes. Things I would like to see, especially on Nez Perce. Duck hunting more than big game hunting, really lends itself to hunting with others. I could see this being an amazing experience in multiplayer.
- Ducks concentrated in the swamps and grasslands, but found in lakes with appropriate landing spots in the highland and lowlands forests as well. This would not require a change to existing drinking zones from other animals. I can’t recall ducks spooking deer when I’ve seen them together.
- Add some duck species that are especially more likely to be found in the woodland areas- wood ducks and teal are often found in wooded wetlands.
- A few more duck species native to Idaho. In addition to the beautiful wood and teal, redheads and pintails are gorgeous ducks and would be a great trophy additions to the lodge.
- Change duck behavior to be more likely to be called into your location. I don’t know what the duck call range is, but I suspect it may need to be increased for calling birds to your location.
- I would turn off genetics for waterfowl. It’s not like deer hunting where, in real life, you sit in a stand year after year watching the same buck grow in hopes that he turns into a monster. You don’t watch ducks grow up. You call them in, you shoot them. Instead, I would make their genetics purely random. Obviously, 4 and 5* animals would be much rarer than 1 and 2* birds.
- Gear time.
A. Add duck blinds- ground blinds with open roofs. Duck hunting is staying put and calling in birds. For that reason:
1. Turn off hunting pressure when shooting birds.
B. Add a few more 12 and 20 gauge shotgun varieties. Pumps and automatics.
C. A few calls that may work better for different species.
D. Retriever (optional) Not a dog that tracks shot animals. Just retrieves the ducks.
E. Decoys
