This can only become objectionable in Ranger mode. Scientific research, animal migration route. I don't think you need this in other modes. Enter as dev then only in RANGER mode

I'm for this. That would also be a way to check an animal's vitality without having to kill them, like when you have a hunch that an animal that's only young or adult and not mature might have a high vitality score.
But that should be costly and sufficiantly difficult. Short ranged tranquiliser guns (range similar to the crossbows I'd guess? Cant say I'm an expert on that topic) with expensive ammo.
No idea what a GPS tracker that can be attached to an animal would cost though.
