Fear is probably the strangest mechanic in the game right now, but it’s probably the weakest which sucks because it has such a cool concept but it’s so weak it’s not even mentioned in the human tutorial. The main point of fear is to make people do objectives or stick together to remove it, but it’s so weak you pretty much can ignore it without any consequences. Yet it is an accessibility issue because of the filter that makes it hard to see or hear. So I really feel they should remove the filter and instead make where you can be sensed farther from klowns when you’re fearful. Like imagine your nervous which causes you to be clumsy which causes you to be more noisy, I would rather have that than this annoying filter we have now plus it makes it much more impactful in gameplay.

Also I hate how random fear is, it’s like you could be walking and out of nowhere you can get fear
Eat a burger, use a med kit, hop in a hiding spot, etc. Fear is pretty easy to deal with
Yeah but my main problem with fear is the fact that it’s this very weak, clunky mechanic that only gives this annoying filter as its main effect. It had such a cool concept too I really hope they take a look at it

I think all they really need to do is just change the effects of fear, if they can do that it would be so much better
So that's what it's called I feel like fear should be only when your around the klowns otherwise I feel like it's just uneeded
Yeah it’s pretty strange they don’t mention it at all until this most recent patch but it has cool features, when you see a dead teammates corpse you get fear? It’s just the whole filter thing falls face first gameplay wise😪
Thing is I've had it happen when there is nothing around me I should be afraid of. Unlocking a gate with no one around? Suddenly terrified and a purple screen with muffled audio takes over for 3 minutes. I'm not going to go jump into a dumpster to fix this problem or try to find a med kit or burger that I don't have in my inventory, it's just so silly and broken, I don't see how you could possibly not have an issue with this mechanic.
I played Friday for years and we basically had the same thing. It doesn't even faze me.

Like if they’re going to add a mechanic that’s supposed to make me feel afraid and immersed couldn’t have they at least added something than a filter that blocks the edges of your screen
It's tunnel vision. It's part of being afraid. It doesn't exactly feel like it because the screen is pink. In Friday the screen gets darker and darker around the edges and you lose your mini map. Your character's face looks terrified. We can't even rotate our cameras so half of it is lost in this game. It would be awesome if they would add that though, that was one of the best things about Friday was being able to rotate the view.
Man that sounds so sick! I feel like if they could even add half of that from Friday it would really fix the mechanic

Being alone in the dark, seeing a dead body, being near Jason
Sounds cool and similar to the one we have but for some reason I’m guessing it feels way more consistent lol
