Oh this is really good - reminds me of like Silver Suns Pickup. The vocals are unique but they actually really work. I think you might be right on the "too repetitive" part. I feel like you need like an alternate melody at the instrumental or at least a counter melody on top of the main one. This might be personal bias, but I prefer songs that have the vocals start a little earlier - not necessarily starting the verse earlier, but like some ooh or humming or just vocal soundscape stuff during the intro could help grab attention.

overall it's mixed really well and the transitions feel just about perfect
