i made this melody i like and want to work with but i cant find the scale its in, i cant identify them myself so i just use musmath but that doesnt give me anything, and the melody doesnt sound out of tune to me

if anyone knows what scale it is, or why it wont pop up on musmath it would be greatly appreciated

probably not detecting it because this is a bit unusual. your melody implies that the key center of the underlying progression would be changing.

the first half of the melody looks like it's in F Minor but has the major 7th in it, which. then the tonality of the entire the shifts, and the implied key at that point is shifted to D Minor, also with the major 7th

when you go into writing music without a scale and key in mind, while also not having too much music theory knowledge, you sorta set yourself up for failure not 100% knowing how you would capitalize on what you just wrote.

of course, you can always just experiment and try things out, but you're running into this problem right now with this post

This melody is not in a scale, the closest think is b# minor but you will need to turn down a semitone the E and the G 🙂
