Well, my 3rd ever production. Some dark-ish ambient. I guess it's more melodic ambient. Tried working with some Effects in the mixer and a little automation. Much to learn, but for someone with no knowledge of musictheory whatsoever I'm happy to see where it's going. (and I'm secretly learning a bit of music theory along the way.) I feel like I have a bit too much going on in the mid/lower frequencies. Any thoughts?

Not really dark ambient, sounds more like moodier psybient tbh

#

you should probably use minor scales instead of major

#

i dont really hear any clashing in the mid/lower frequencies but you can probably do a low-shelf filter and see how many db you can lower the frequencies

#

could also be because your low ends are too wide

#

otherwise, it's great especially for your 3rd ever productions

#

reminds me of those modular generative ambient videos

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. I couldn't change the title anymore. It's not dark ambient indeed 😛

@quaint laurel Is there a way I can get an image from the wave in fl studio? Or are you asking for a .wav file?

sounds really good. It sounds like the distorted static sound that comes in at 3:36 is intentional but i dont think that sounds works well with the track

i dont think the volume of the low end is a problem, its just when its too distorted. imo the mid to high chiming sounds could be softened up a bit and be made less sharp as its an ambient track
