first time trying this genre

the basses are overlapping, as well as you should add a sidechain from kick to bass

but i like the melody!

just make sure that only one bass is playing at a time, because otherwise multiple low frequencies will overlap and make a bad mess

if multiple sources of low frequencies mix together (multiple basses playing simultaneously), they will clash and the basses will sound bad

and a sidechain,

is when one instrument ducks its volume (compresses) when another sound plays

so like when if i add a sidechain from kick to bass,

the bass will duck (become quieter) in the moments when the kick hits

because kicks have a low-end as well

which will create overlapping if not sidechained well
