#is it worth getting a singer on this

Not too familiar with the genre, but love the vibe. that being said, its a little muddy as far as mixing. would like the bassline to ring out, yet sit in place behind the keys. in areas like the hook, it sounded "kerfuffled". but with a few tweaks, its quite commercial.
the arrangement is nice and easy to follow. and on the real, it sounds like you had some fun putting it together. that's what it's really all about
the chord progression really is generic
a little too generic but yea
the way you use the piano as the lead instrument its just makes the arrangement feel very midrange-y
other than that i didnt think the mix is too bad
sure i get it
sorry i wasnt trying to be like overly negative lol
i can hear that a bit
its a decent attempt though to be honest
there is one other thing i felt like it sounds pretty compressed
I think the piano needs some ott or something to give it that jpop timbre
it sounds a bit too dull
it might be an arrangement issue then
jpop piano melodies tend to be doubled an octave
also maybe reign in the delay effect on the piano
I think that may be the culprit to the muddiness in the mix
it is?
well then what piano vst are you using?
something I notice in a lot of electronic jpop is that they like to have a really short decay on the piano to give it an almost stabbing quality
it ends up making the piano sound unnaturally processed but that's the point
