#how to start making a beat?

Hmm
lots of inspiration,
I reccomend just knowing the genre you want to try to make
and listening to it for like 5 hours straight
thats what I do
one method you could use is familiarising yourself with popular chord progression(specific to genre of course) and then building melodies on top of that. Anther thing you could do is think of a song similar to what u want to make and take inspiration from that.
yeah
For example when I wrote the melody for this collab: https://soundcloud.com/murkish/murkish-x-pumpkeh-long-for-the-moon-wavedub?si=55da385234cd4bb189072cae0310a953&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
made with a melody from https://soundcloud.com/pumpkeh
response to https://soundcloud.com/unit333

I listened to a ton of mr kittys stuff
just know what you want and listen to it
Think about mixing and mastering last, I really struggled because I used to do mixing and mastering like one fourth into the song and screw myself up
