Just finished a print testing out Curas ironing settings and I’ve got this weird bubbling type effect. Doing a concentric pattern for the ironing process because zigzag starts at a weird spot and picks back up in a weird spot making the entire finish kind of hideous.

I've only used Super Slicer for ironing, and I've never seen anything like that. It almost looks like your hotend stopped

#

Actually, I think I did try ironing in Cura once

I see what you mean I only use Cura it's the only thing I've got experience in atm

What speed did you iron at?

16.66667mm/s

the default on cura

#

My ironing settings atm

I've not tried concentric, but I don't see anything wrong there

#

Speed and flow are reasonable

#

Spacing is the same as I use

Do you think upping the flowrate may help reduce the weird bubbling effect?

No! But you could try.

#

Probably best to try a quick test object

Alrighty then, I may look into my settings more and see what I can mess with. Since I'm printing an odd shape it is not going to help 😓

Not sure if I actually fixed my problem but after fiddling with Cura I found a Top/Bottom setting called monotonic top/bottom order, I ticked it. Now my print is actually doing lines in a way that makes sense and not starting in a random spot doing a little bit and coming back a minute later to finish it.

Yes. The monotonic top/bottom help the base, pre-ironed layer. I do suspect you might have had an issue before the ironing started

gentle rune
#

Yeah it’s possible, when I turned it on and watched the ironing layer the way it did it seemed better than how it was doing it before. I’ll figure out if it fixed it later today.

Those settings actually changed nothing the print actually turned out slightly worse
