Hi @ember bobcat, the straightforward answer is to call in the gateway, as most of our users do, and we honestly haven’t encountered any issues with this so far.

However, this is really a choice that depends on your system’s architecture, so could you elaborate more on ‘how close’ to the action? or where exactly you would place the request if you opt for the second option?

assuming I would choose the second option, each endpoint will have a call to permify at its start.

As I mentioned generally users choose first option but depending on your needs second opt could also work. Since we don't have that much benchmark on it. We'd love to learn more about your use case though, as a new user your insights are incredibly valuable to us.
