Subject: Unable to Access My Ente Photos Account – Passkey Issue

Hello Ente Support Team,

On 6th November 2025 at 11:18 PM, I created my Ente Photos account. At that time, I also took a screenshot of my recovery key and backed it up within the same Ente account.
The following day, I formatted my device, and when I tried to log back into my Ente account, it started asking for a passkey, which I never created.
Now, I am unable to recover my account because the recovery key is stored inside the same account, and I have no other backup of it.
Please help me regain access to my account. I can provide any verification details needed to prove ownership.

If you're unable to log in with your passkey, you can recover your account using your Ente recovery key. During login, press cancel on the browser dialog to verify your passkey, and then select the "Recover two-factor" option in the error message that appears. This will allow you to enter your Ente recovery key and log in. You can then go to the Passkey page to delete the lost passkey and/or add a new one, as described at https://ente.io/help/photos/features/account/passkeys#recovery.
