Are you in diamond but on level with golds? That'll be the skill of your surroundings 90% of the time
But it's still a good thing because it forces smurfs into difficult games and it insures the competitive experience is still good enough for everyone involved, the tradeoff is that SR doesn't matter +/- around 500 of where you are (until the topmost ranks of like 4600, where it gets MUCH narrower)
