What about MCD
But most of the communication comes from the support lines to be fair
The safe best is to go western supports
maybe not anymore
Mcd looks like hes interested in gladiators
Glads didn't lose supports.
Which is true so thats why i was confused to see him trying out for them
Neptuno was in there so maybe backup positions?
this is kinda fun

not as good as LA biggeese
You don't think they will sign element mystic's maintank to pair off with hanbin?
But I don't get why they won't want to have element mystic's support line tho
They have to
who needs a korean support line?
Paris lol
cough cough WSJ cough cough
Ahahahahah oh right
Seems like MCD will be picked up?
Wonder how much they offered
I assume he is trolling lol
Well he tagged paris so
he replied to a comment chain with paris in it
Wait MCD is not the main tank
support
Wait unique is missing
It wouldnt hurt if MCD did go back to contenders
Just keep building your stoxk
And hope for higher paying offers
Id assume paris is gonna give them something between 60k-90k
I think one inactive
im pretty sure paris pays them more than 60-90k
^
Which team does ML7 and KarQ play?
is that a serious question?
Sources: The Boston Uprising have acquired O2 Blast Flex Support Sang-Min "Myunbong" Seo.
On Boston?
I'm more interested in Talon esports players getting picked up, but these Paris announcements should warrant some concerns
But they're going for a Mixed roster
Props to that
Something is very wrong
does anyone want to join a team looking to get bigger
Learning from Shock and Atlanta it's going to look this way
if so dm me
Boston stock exchange
You didn't think they saved money not to spend it
True.
Could this be another shaky decision
I’m shocked he chose Boston
This dude is easily worth a shit ton
How DID BOSTON get the best support in contenders
None of their decisions had to make any sense before, why stop now?
Unless boston is going korean as well
HuK would very much enjoy having a stacked Korean roster
Korean leauge 2020
Recall that they traded for finances and not a player for this
They wouldn't have any use for the players on Houston
ahh i get where ur coming from
Well they could just sign for cheaper or for better performing players from contenders korea
But was always the case, he was just saving towards this moment coming into 2020
Crazy how some people want their team to still be EU
All the teams that were on the cusp of Play-ins should be rethinking their roster philosophy if they want in this season
Id expexted all of the bottom 5 teams to just do full reworks
Minus florida and washington
9 players on the eternal roster
Half Korean and half French (not including greyy/kruise who underperformed when he got stage time)
What i didnt expext was london and Gladiators clearing house
Void is gone right?
@karmic grotto don’t worry most people are baffled how the fuck they got myunbong
Its a signing out of left field honestly
If we manage to get a Scandinavian city in S4
We might see Scandinavian mix again
But I'm gonna bet koreans eventually
KarQ is a streamer for toronto and ml7 doesn't play for anyone
Paris said Korean time

KDG was Seoul's head coach last year
@mint flower Rio not unexpected indeed, this countdown is going to be hype and hectic
Kdg fusion uni coach right?
KDG was Seoul's head coach last year
@haloofthoughts Want to hear the crazy part? Boston was like the only team interested in him 😂😂😂. Teams really missed the ball on this one.
This is bullshit
100%
Myunbong was the best support in KR contenders
This makes me worried for Edison
One of the best dps in KR but played for a middling team
The follow up tweets make it extremely alarming
The scouts mustve been on drugs for most teams
Fr. Or they don’t look past top 3 teams
@mint flower hi there
Guys like GodsB,iDK were all Insane players during 2017 but weren’t scouted in s1
Eh ur team is losing so ur shit
Kinda bullshit lmao
Hence vancouver s1
T2 wasn’t supported enough at all lol
@trim shadow no
They wanted to stay as a team
But some of their memebers weren’t old enough
Haksal and SMS weren’t old enough
Gonna go over to the cod league
I wonder who Philly will go far as a MT
Sado is bad
And changsik is meh
I can name 5 MTS better than him rn
Marve1
Alpha
now that Gesture is in Seoul
Stalker

Wasn't it Mykl?
Buying a 30 million spot shouldnt have broken vals bank
But it would have pushed them into a reserve move to re configure budget cost for there teams
Who gets what salary yada yada
It's not just 30 million for the team though
It's 30 for the team, then the CoD buy in spot, then an entire CoD roster (since almost the entire optic team quit)
It was also the entire company.
So the buyout was way more than 30M
They bought the entirety of Infinite E-Sports.
Btw the players are really good too
Last report I saw was cash and equity of 35 up to 45 M.
Buying infiite pushed them to around what
I wanna say 40 mil
But i feel 100 mil was floated
But then thats over priced
CWL was rumored at ~25M as well.
So worse case scenario you're at 45+25+ players
70M in a few months.
Ya need at least 10 players for your owl roster
I know nothing of how the cod roster shakeup looks like
But id imagine thats at least 6-7 more salaries
And then you have coaches and assistants
Easily@push you to 90 million
Plus housing
I'm sure they're not broke broke, but you'd cut back at this point.
Housing, Travel, Hotels, etc.
There financial adviser mustve had a long summer
not really
I cant imagine the headache looking all the money immortals spent and then all the expensives they still have to cover for the next year
most of these orgs/teams involved in owl have near unlimited funds when it comes to this stuff
they knew what they got into
Boston is cheap af
No one person has near unlimited funds
Until now
cheap, not poor
no team in owl is in the position to need a loan
no team in owl, or org involved in owl, is struggling for money
except maybe houston, but thats a bit outdated
Id imagine someone was loaning to houston
i have no idea what they did or how theyre doing
yeah but that was a special case
like houston could have spent nothing
gone the boston route
and they'd still be in trouble with what happened
i think whats more interesting to think about is how the fuck OWL is pulling in so much money
like each team in SEASON 1 had a minimum of what
20m buyin?
then you have teams paying extra for good franchises, think seoul, shanghai maybe
Anyone that would give them money they petitioned. just smart of them
player wages, some teams buying 1mil houses
teams like philly making 70m (?) arenas
not sure on the 70m figure, i think im wrong
its obviously within these orgs interests to stay in the league, so its insane to think about how much money owl must be pulling in
for them to make their investment worth it, and then KEEP investing
The optic situation is really sad tbh
was optic the situation where the owner or co owner or something went hammer crazy
Houston got gamestop as a owner
HECZ sold his ownership
who was the hammer guy
Id imagine that got them through the end of the season
J
At least they have a cod team
and the runaway buyout was probably A LOT
Envyus houston and immortals have a cod leauge spot
Immortals got a League spot from Optic lmao
If they bought in it has to have been atlantas
If you guys didn’t know Chengdu is run by RNG
Id imagine comcast sports got in as well
No RNG
idk them
Royal Never Give Up it’s a very big League team
“London royal ravens” what a trash name
From China
Probably could buy multiple OW teams lmao
ah makes sense
Comcast could buy the leauge honestly
Revenue: $94.51 billion USD (2018)
jesus
they could buy the league with like
not even a quarter of their YEARLY revenue
Huya owns chengdu
operated by rngu
Thats one of the billionaire company’s in china i believe
^
So yea the chineese teams will have money issues never
Isntshanghai just owned by
Yeh
A guy
IG ( last year’s world winners) had their owner play in a match
Pro match
Lmao
@queen drift no dragons are owned by NetEase
Ah
Which has the biggest revenue of the 4 i believe
Guangzhou is own by a org that has a chieese basketball team
Netking?
So outlaws are just stacked coachingnwise
Minus@flame
When I saw the first word lmao
Flame already stepped away from Coaching.
He only did some in S2 because Tairong was burning out hard.
Flame has always done what was best for the team, minus his own stupid tweets.
But he worked his ass of in S2 getting them financing and shit.
I'll give him that credit.
Arguably thats what a GM does, keeps the team running no matter what.
I also give him points for always having his teams back, even when its wrong lol
Hes not doing as much as the managers at cox/reign are doing
Since i heard they bought a spot in atlanta
I think before the season ended
And there working on international training facilities in like china and europe
who's dream
Montreal’s coach
British Hurricane coach a year ago when they were really good, then Montreal Rebellion Coach.
He's pretty big brain.
He is? But sometimes he can get wonk
imo atlanta really don't need to change a thing
Maybe sign a danish Hitscan player
they might need to get a new backup main support if the rumours of funnyastro going to philly are true
Why pick up logix tho?
you mean re-signed?
Insurance if the s4 talks fell through
Yeah
ivy and mangachu are still on the team
Last i saw they were options
which means they could be re-signed
A source familiar with the negotiations told ESPN that the @ShanghaiDragons and @SeoulDynasty have verbally agreed to a transfer that will send @ow_fleta to Shanghai for #OWL2020. https://t.co/6Ylq6CYDJd
Dragons getting an actual flex player
Well projectile heavy dps with a bit hitscan on the side
If they are gonna resign mangachu and ivy
Then with surefoure and agilities they have 5?
And according to custa surefour is already signed
Probably agilities' contract didn't fall through??
Unless they aren't gonna resign ivy haha
Is profit more hitscan heavy or projectile?
I thought they would go s4 agilities mangachu logix, cause Canada and Logix is good, ditching ivy
Profit is more projectile heavy. Which is also the case with fleta.
Though Diem Fleta would be pretty nasty
If Diem can get his other hitscan to his widow I think that’d be good
seoul gonna grab all the absolute best they can get
Does SHD has a tracer?
Diem and Diya
Diya is basically chinese Diem then
they could absolutely thwomp with diya
naturally, he can't fully integrate with an all korean roster
he continues to be recognised as a star player, even for 8 minutes on zarya/ashe the entire season
4th most hero damage done
is diem considered bad? i remember watching him and thinking he has some of the best aim i’ve ever seen in OW
he only look bad because his team went 1-6 in stage 4 I believe
But believe me diem is a top hitscan player and argubably one of the best widows in OWL rn
fr
i remember watching him and he was popping off
He did well in all stars widowmaker 1v1
Not a full representation, but he played well against veteran players
Viol2t, Fleta and Nenne
You know what surprised me the most on rookie hitscan dps? YXL.
He was supposed to be "the" Chinese hitscan dps, but he had some really bad plays.
Viol2t is a widow player? 👀
Shu is a widow player when he was on the Toronto Esports Roster
Contenders NA before it was split East/West was wild
Pog
Do it fissure i miss you
marve1 not aggro enough
Everyone thinks its london but
It could be a stellar situation
Where stellar retired
Then decided he wanted togo back to toronto but toronto didnt have the cap so he ended up on boston
or buyout like a bunch of others so far
But who da hell wants marve1?
You guys need to stop thinking contracts matter so much.
You don't want Marve1 anymore? You don't need to wait for a trade, pay out the contract and release him.
Id imagine seoul likes marve1 ofc i dont know what hes like on ladder or in the team house
Thats why marve1 got most of the play time not just because fissure was a hyper aggressive tank during the goats holocaust
I think marve1 now has synergy with the other 5 starters on the team rn
Fissure retired in stage 3 i believe so hes had enough time to take a break from OW
Its the xqc affect
You burnt out
Or get kicked out
Then you miss the feel of professional play
Gesture and profit are playing for seoul so
Marve1 could get traded but then again not likely
Who would want fissure when they have Gesture and Marvel lol
f155ure god
If you’re going to be racist or hate on Koreans for being on a western team then you’re not someone I want associated with me as a fan or as anything, that’s horrible. If you’re a true fan you wouldn’t hate on our teammates.
400
1726
Did people hate on the koreans or the fact they aren't EU?
the latter
*or on the team cause they falled their promise to go full eu?
yh thats basically it, haven't seen anything thats actually racist but idk, still stupid that people are upset tho
As a person that is... "upset", maybe I can clarify
I don't hate on koreans
I'm cool with Paris picking them up and trying to be competitive
But I just want to see people from my area play too! ><
Which is why I tend to support teams with western players
And why I didn't want them to change their roster
Realistically being mad they're on your team because they're Korean is at its core racist. It's not hardcore aggressive racism.
But you're mad at them being on your team because they're not white europeans.
Rather than be mad that your region is literally dog shit, you're mad that someone else is playing in their place.
Which is oof. Harmless oof.
But oof.
Also good on Kruise for calling out xenophobic shit fucks.
A+.
Makes up for how horribly he played last season.
Pussy or ass?
I'm not forced to like the change
And I'm not racist for not liking it
I think the best players should be the ones playing on OWL
@short sparrow Do you eat dog with duck sauce
And yes, I'll gladly go and watch only contenders if I have to
I'd rather not watch subpar OW just because there's the wrong race of people in it.
But thats your call.
And yes, I'm pretty mad Europe is shit
I hope at least 1 european does well in the owwc
But I don't really feel like its gonna happen .-.
Is it not ok for me to support players from my region?
And is it not ok for me to want my local team to invest in my region?
@trim shadow
Linkzr did the Submiminal messages so he might be getting traded
where?
Subliminal*
But
- Hes western
- What teams have only 2 or less dps
- Rosters that arent filled or have options
Atlanta toronto boston
in a reply?
to who?
and toronto currently 5 options for dps
linkzer would not be considered
unlikely
Boston
Link would fit in atlanta
But hes not that much better over Babybay
And id imagine nlaeer is better as well
But erster doesnt have a back up so
erster is more projectile tho
linkzer on boston?
I don't think that's possible too lol
boston likes new blood
But fusions is returning for s3
Yes boston signed myunbong
Not confirmed but
Mixed roster id imagine
well sfs have proven that mixed rosters can work
boston has always gone for mixed rosters
nahh I think boston would still be another bottom team next season again
Edison probably doesn’t have an offer
How fucking garbage is OWL scouting lmao
It’s actually sad
I just realised, both Vancouver this year and philly last year had a super agro main tank that plays rein, both got benched near the playoffs, and both lost in the finals
tbf titans had a good chance at winning 2 maps but fucked up right when it actually matter
Eich was extremely close, so was Anubis
Well china doesnt have leave anymore soo......
yea basically SK probs gonna stomp again
Honestly wc probably isnt worth
hope leave recovers:(
Sources: The Dallas Fuel have traded Main Tank Min-Seok "Oge" Son for Los Angeles Gladiators DPS Gui-Un "Decay" Jang
That would be wild, but why would LAG ditch there 3 dps?
They are all so good and decay is the last
Technically surefour's transfer hasn't been announced yet
Decay is also expensive
Also, super leaked Gamsu leaving the Dragons
True, but its very hinted
For what?
A useless hero and nothing else he can play thats meta?
There's literally 0 reason to pick up Who?RU.
Dallas could be going mainly korean with western players
Not how a clue aero will handle that
With how incompetent he is as a coach
Hypothetically they have Gamsu, Closer and Decay rn
but what western player would you run
Note if they managed to resign him
Yea note
But if note did leave dallas
Then tit would be between unkoe and harryhook
Yay... Chara is back... .-.
Not confirmed but thats the only convincing one going about.
4 more announcements left until GZ get to post major updates to their roster
Do you think they are changing anything?
nah
there was really nothing wrong with their roster
id imagine fraggi bischu might come as well

Is aero known as a bad coach?
depends on who you ask
@rare sonnet hint this is where you type
Gamsu note(maybe) decay Zacharee(or Taimou) unkoe closer
also i’ve seen people saying taimou is bad but as far as i know he’s a good hitscan right?
He’s not as good as he used to be but he’s still really good
And his performance is kinda spotty
better than zach tho
The problem with the Dallas changes are, in my opinion, they've changed nothing.
Sure they got some better players, a better leadership tank.
But they've had talent.
They just haven't had any visible or decent coaching.
And they kept the same coaches.
Also is decay really a projectile heavy dps flex?
It's primarily what he was known for.
Has he played pharah?
Decay was basically just like Sparkle
Guess his mei is just bad then.
He played Pharah back in Apex, etc.
It's just been unnecessary for him to play it the last bit.
Dding had taken it over prior to goats too.
GOATS PogU
No one really touches Dding on Pharah, Jinmu probably gets the closest.
And then on LAG you wouldn't Decay Pharah over Hydration.
I mean thats kind of debatable since dding is one the few players to actually ran pharah for long periods of time.
It's been the same forever.
And we didnt get to see it after playins
It's just his thing.
I thought jinmu had a nutty pharah until nero nuked him over and over
Pharah, Sombra and Hanzo were kind of always his go to.
I think Nero is one of my favorite players
Dragons were so close reverse sweeping london
until profit had to flex and kept contesting dding
8 maps was heartbreaking for Shanghai
on the last round too
Would've been worst if shock reverse swept in stage 3 playoffs
And double shield was gonna be such a perfect fit for dragons dps
Isn't paris gonna pick up the rest of sparkle?
the rest of EM? Probs not
Unless they start dropping their french players
But with NineK on board, their probs gonna see how a mixed roster works
Seeing that everyone expect few teams are going the shock route
Technically they only have 4 french players
They definitely need a new main tank and support line
As a dragons fan watching that final ilios map was painful
is there a change jehong stays in seoul
i think its a strong chance
good
Free agent
Which means until the deadline November 15
He could very well be released and moved on to another team
November 11th is when FA’s sign with teams
November 15th is roster deadline
!owl2020
Nov 15th is not exactly the roster deadline
But the deadline to have at least 8 players
Tho I sincerely wonder what will happen if all of the players in one team are down because of a resturant mistake

@hidden vault a restaurant mistake 🤔
Legit could happen, but I don't see it if it never occurred in LA
I mean all the Korean players just won't suddenly have a tolerance for Western food
Or as geguri mentioned for Chinese
Just gets kinda bland (small sample size, it was with the losing shanghai roster which I wouldn't call a very well organised team by any stretch)
Just don't give your teammates fire noodles

Well I'm not talking about food intolerance but food poisoning
An improper storage of food, hygiene could cause it
And owl doesnt seem to have anything in their guidelines? When the whole team is unable to play?
I dont think its to that level yet
Like where a whole team gets food poison
With new york they just couldnt handle spicy food
Lol, Fran was dropped from her team.
Prove?
Ended up leaving Revival (sorry that didn't last long), don't really want to get into too many details, but I wish them the best. Don't worry though, I got something cooking👀
1340
We want to thank @FRANA_OW for her time with us at Revival. Though our time together was brief, we know Fran has a bright future ahead of her and wish her the best of luck in the future.
552
Like wtf?
Did she get a owl offer?
If not thats a pepega move
After claiming u wanted togo pro for so fucking long
Get the chance and then N A H
she didnt play a bloody game
And she had aspen has her support partner
What the shit is there not to be happy about
Aren’t they both flex support players
I'm not part of the team
Teams can have all kind of issues
She's also, with no disrespect, an attractive woman making moves. You have no clue how the players/other people were towards her.
So it could be something in that vein.
Gotta remember most people are shit fucks, especially with the internet.
Wouldn’t be surprised if there was harassment either
Inb4 aspen leaks
contenders move up!?
#BostonUp is hiring a Marketing and Ticket Sales Manager!
Apply here to join the team: https://t.co/00sjZ99kil

But I also did question
If it is along those lines, isnt Aspen in the same position? I mean it's possible Fran may take the bulk of it idk
At this point or departure is all speculations
when does 3v3 comp end boys
probably because no one knows
We let go another coach.
Bye mobydik
Also to a general owl audience, would you guys like to see announcers for the teams, like traditional sports?
I think the reality is that for 2020 we're going to see the talent team expanded in a way. I would expect it will involve sending one of the current four pairs to each venue, and using a local team to alternate between.
So if you have say 3 games Saturday and 3 games Sunday in... I dunno, Vancouver, or China - they might use a contenders pair of casters for 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday, and vice-versa of one of the existing OWL talent team.
Also remember that that $90m Twitch contract expired and is either up for renewal or replacement for 2020 - it only covered Seasons 1-2.
Wolf and achillios will more then likely cover the Asia games or asian division
semm and hex will probably cover the san frasisco vancouver games
Etc etc
Monte/Doa and Uber/MrX probably have the pull to choose which matches they get. They'll get some of those 'premier' locations - New York, Atlanta, probably Seoul, London...
is that ivy to NYXL?
Actually it does.
NYXL doesn't have multiple flex players and Ivy is an -strong- flex DPS, he just hit language issues where he was and couldn't work in a mixed roster with horrid communication
But if you've seen him play this gives Libero a real partner.
I'm gonna get kicked and banned for this question but:
Why do American teams (from American cities) consists fully out of Korean players that not occasionally cannot even speak English properly? Doesn't that just neglect the point of the name of the team?
Maybe there is some simple reason I do not know but I need someone to point it out to me
Because people want the best players.
That happens in a lot of sports
Look at baseball and the funnel that comes from South America/Dominican Republic.
Talent is talent, doesn't have a race or language.
Also.
New York City and LA have the worlds second and third largest concentration of Korean people outside of Korea, if my memory is correct.
So its still a very factual representation of the cities.
But why are the names like "Houston outlaws" and not some other name like "Fnatic" or "Envyus"
That would make a lot more sense to me
only people who are into esports know those teams
if you use a city name then everyone knows
easier to associate with
The goal of the leauge was to always be a nfl for esports
I would be more willing to cheer for a team named after my city, than something like that
Dallas Fuel could have been Dallas Envy, it just sounds like trash, too.
its emotional in the end
OWL is mimicking other franchise leagues
Ok then
Just doesn't work for me I guess...
works for everyone really
this is just how sports works
No one is gonna give a shit about team envy or fnatic for longs periods of time, their gonna care about their city.
I am fan of Team Liquid in LCS and It works for me better than any other name. It has much more profound meaning behind it
It has history, thats literally the only reason.
Because you know esports.
For a new person?
LCS could literally stand for Little Cock Suckers.
And they wouldn't know, or care.
It's easier for a new person to find meaning in a geographic location, since its constant.
So it makes sense for a league to go with the most consistent, and world wide recognizable, branding.
Which is teams via cities.
There's also a very different way in which the two things actually work. LCS isn't a league in the standard sense, there's no schedule, no games.
Just tournaments.
The video take 3 minutes and 29 seconds and explain what liquid means. You have to travel from here 12 hours on a plain to get to Houston. Or 3 hours on a plane to get to London to have team to cheer for.
Which is why im all in for csgo to franchise even if they dont take City names
Csgo teams rarely change rosters anyway
you dont have to travel to the city to be a fan
Bruce Lee: Be like water (Inspirational) <- For anyone who cares
But for now, thank you for explanation
It's 3 in the morning so good night
And ya do realize people travel all across america just togo see a caifornia team play in florida
But thats hardcore fams
Fans
Please can agilities and s4 go to TD this week plz
We’ve been waiting so long for what we all know is happening lol
Then I guess since ivy is leaving they can keep mangachu
is this group alive?
is alive usually, but there is no news so far, so nothing to especulate till new trades or OWWC starts
I told people weeks ago to expect lots of retirements
Being an esports pro is rough; being one who’s gonna travel the amount OWL will is worse
traveling that much will be so rough for them
GUYS I JUST GOT A NEW SETUP
ok?
But Doomfist probs will not be meta anymore
How do you make an overwatch league team
you don't
unless you have a 60 million dollar buyin plus money for travel and accommodations for years.
I dont' know if it's ever been confirmed, but season 2 did increase
Why does it cost that much? It costs that much because either 1) Blizz set it at that, or 2) teams are willing to pay it

it depends
it's likely with localization that Blizz is already talking to teams about s4
and it's entirely possible that some teams are already official
maybe we'll see something at Blizzcon
YoungJin was a good DF but also a very good Roadhog. Role lock killed flex players but he could still specialize in OT if he doesn’t find as dps.
Chicago May never happen rip my cousins
@limber pine It should be pointed out that this is nothing, historically, new. The earlier you buy in the cheaper the buy in always is.
Because buying in early has an increased chance of risk to your investment.
Things are much more likely to fail year 1 versus year 4, even less likely yeah 15+.
The NFL is a fun one. Original Buy In for the NFL was around $100 iirc. But this was back in 1920.
Right now if you were looking to buy a team you're looking at ~1 billion, give or take.
If there is a s4 expansion it will probably 3-4 teams deep
natural assumption is they'll be done in multiples of 2, no matter what.
Since you need divisions to remain even
So you could add say.. two chinese teams and keep that division even, although biggers than the others, etc.
the easiest way would be to add two asian and two eu
Yeah, but either way I don't see it being done in multiples other than 2.
Say Chicago wants to add a team, they'll most likely try and get a second east coast NA type team as well.
Though a 1:1:1:1 would also work
that'd be ideal
Chicago and minnesota
but I'd assume divisions could just get reshuffled again
The outliers are london and Paris
Id assume expasion will be focused there
Build a eu division and then add to the others
Yeah, my guess is they'll do lower buy ins for teams willing to be in the EU region.
Try and get a second and third London.
At least thats how I'd manage it.
Want to buy in a team in Korea? Okay, 45 million. Want to buy in in EU? 35 million.
You could realisticly fit 1 more team in the uk then then lockdown germany and sweden
Well screw sweden
Germany and Belgium
Yeaa thatd work avoid political issues
What are the requirements for an OWL team name? They seem to have wide boundaries
Do they have to be named after somewhere that the managers or players are from?
No, it's just a franchised team.
They work with Blizzard to "claim" a city and create a name
just like Soccer or football or any other traditional sport
So I'm from Canada, theoretically (I know the process to make a team) I could name a team something from Germany or Russia
if you had millions of dollars yes
the team just has to play their home games in Germany or Russia
or wherever
most owners though have ties to the city their team is in
Oh damn
I guess I'm going with Halifax or smth
If I make a team
That ends up being eligible for OWL
Very small chances tho
Recruiting is hard
Zunba on stream
“This could be good news, there is a team that I am hopeful about. I’ve been doing well in tryouts. But I have to finish tryouts first, they’re gonna be abt 3 weeks long and I’fe done well thus far... still a while to go yet, gotta keep working hard...

Oh
How much does a spot cost ?
Is it millions, or thousands
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to esports stuff
the Season 2 buyin was rumored in the $40-60 million range
<@&397922982632226816>
Can you put this up?
yes
yes
Who did lilbow coach for before?
Ah ok
Sources: The Toronto Defiant have traded DPS player Seung-Hyun "Ivy" Lee to the Philadelphia Fusion for Main Tank Adam "Beasthalo" Denton
kariv is korean tho
okay
hi
Who is beast halo?
He's really solid, was going to play for one of the Chinese teams last year till Silkthread quit.
Without Silkthread for translating they dropped his option.
What is your guys favorite team/
Toronto
Slikthread was chengdu right?
@limber pine Did you see the RJH interview?
i remember when people trashed on silkthread for being a ladder player
turns out he was pretty good eh
Every pro had to start somewhere, being a random top 500 player on ladder is a common starting point
What? Silkthread was on CLG with Hydration.
parts of it
whatever happened to miso
he kinda disappeared
i was referring to when silkthread was a last minute pickup for clg
Silk was suppose to be chengdu
and he was only on clg for half a month before he went to LAV
Sources reveal that the Toronto Defiant were able to acquire both KariV and Agilities for a rumored combined price of $140k, despite other OWL teams bidding at least $250k for KariV alone.
More on how and why this deal was possible, for @TGHEsports: https://t.co/Ks0JlR1fFx
With the addition of Gunba, we are excited to announce that we have re-signed and extended contracts for our 2020 coaching staff!
Head Coach ⏩ @Packing_10
Associate Head Coach ⏩ @Stoop_OW
Assistant Coaches ⏩ @reprizeOW & @GunbaOW
Ivy to Fusion
If theyre gonna drop all there players
They mines as well drop all their coaches minus packingp
Rebuild
I mean these were the same coaches who made the come back possible
Imagine going 0-7 in stage 1 and then somehow almost making top 12 but were off by 1 loss.
They already dropped their head coach from 0-7
Which was coach Moon who is on dragons.
Moon just posted something today too but I can’t read Korean and it wouldn’t let me translate
looks like the kariv agilities bromance too strong to be split
money wasnt enough to split them
Or teams that offered kariv 250k
Because the Valiant are reportedly downsizing financially in 2020, they were more interested in a deal that took both player’s contracts off their books, even if it meant getting less money for both in the end.
Didnt wanna sign agilities
Id imagine kariv and agilities both had bonuses and decently high contracts with val
probs just want to get the deal over with
sounds like a pretty good team actually
and not have other teams bidding over them
Beasthalo kariv agil mangachu so far
weren't they in need of money? lol
Team Canada is just a big bromance
Vals parent company was burning money for the past few months
Immortals probs spent like 50 mill alone this year
they really could have gotten kariv's deal lol
Higher then 50 mil
faxs
The leauge spot was a minimum of 40 mil i believe
Its no wonder why Val is force to downsize
no
They bought another org
valiant goin for mostly contenders players?
Remember the whole houston val thing? That was Val parent org buying out houstons parent org.
Probablh at least 100mil
Valiant pulling a Boston
Well at least their HC is decent
Also is the Florida RunAway thing still happening
no
Then Gamsu to Fuel
OGE to glads
Decay to fuel
Then Fate to Shanghai
140 mil is a rough estimate for how much immortals sent
And Fleta to Shanghai
Spent*
But that shouldnt break the camels back
But it will force them to re evaluate there budget for 2020
And establish one going into 2021
Minimum 8 salaries for owl
At least 6-7 salaries for cod leauge
Oh yea thats mandatory for at least the first half of the season
And ya cant go cheap on that
@trim shadow OWL Season 1 franchies were varied, but many in the ballpark of USD12m. OWL Season 2 franchies went all the way up to USD60m(!)
25 mil to 30 mil
the season 4 expansion is rumored to shoot up between 40 mil to 60 mil
They were varied. Two particular teams paid USD60m. Wanna guess which ones? 😄
OWL wanted the Season 2 league expansion to be a further 6 teams. ... but 2 wanted in late in the piece after the franchises had been assigned - and were willing to pay for the place.
I would doubt if Season 4 can command that much. The franchise fees they're asking excluded any interest from a number of Australian potential powners, and a second Korean team. We might, maybe, see two additional teams in season 4 - but I think it's more like that any more than that would be a franchise being sold and moved.
