#

The -only- difference was quarterfinals. In which Shock had to play an extra game.

When you need to lose twice in brackets, you can make your mistake but recover and you weed out teams a lot easier.

Finals (Or Grand Finals) are typically not brackets anymore, because there's not another advancement step so they become the single again.

#

Brackets are also how I determine my strength of end of season, because I have NYXL at fourth despite their finishing third.

Also as a side note - the NFL uses single elimination due to the fact the physical nature of the game does not allow them to play more than one game a week. It's also why they only play 16 games. It's probably the most fluke favorited system in the world.

Goats takes more coordination than dive, by a good amount. If you don't think target coordination is on that list of things you can't screw up I'm sorry your grasp of the game is that bad.

There was a reason there was only 3-4 teams in the league that could actually play Goats. It requires insane team coordination, or else you end up looking like Florida, Dallas or Philly. The individual responsibility level, as well as each persons contribution, are insanely noticeable and you can't afford to have a weak link.

#

While dive does take a lot of coordination you can get carried, pretty heavily, by an individual stand out person (i.e. Striker on Boston)

IMO the competitive SR system should have two queues: Solo queue, and 3-stacks. And that's it. 3-stack teams must provide one player of each role. And 3-stack SR should be completely independent of individual SR. Paris' first season, Florida completely rebuilt, and put up a solid showing outside of Goats. Houston had a bad record but with no actual organization they handled themselves better than anyone expected.

Houston finished one spot below Dallas with literally: No money, no new players, no new coaches, no support structure, and going 0-7 one stage.

#

So a self coached group of 8 kids with two burned out coaches did better than them.

#

It's hard for me to say that Dallas is anything but the worst organization in the league that squanders player talent like crazy.
