OWL teams have until September 9th whether to opt-in players for their second year. Players not chosen will become free agents to Season 2 expansion teams only until October 7th. Free agency for all OWL teams begins October 8th.

Plus you have to consider his time on the fuel... This was a huge exception due to his time with the fuel. If he was on like the fusion or something, it might have been radically different.
As we've seen with not only seagull but effect as well, that team just nearly destroyed themselves with problem after problem...it got to the point that you were paying attention to them only to get more drama
But people who want OWL to fail, let them. It is a pitiful existence to only wish for the failure of others with malice without justification

For the their first year, OWL has done way more than others in it's field, now we just wait to see how they improve it.
First needs to getting more finicial stability for the players.
Then the impact of patches during the stages (why play an old patch and give them so little time to master the next... The teams need more time with patches). Maybe make huge hero changes in better intervals
Then they need to give better conditions for the stages. As much as I loved 4 days of OWL... The players need more time. They are overworked and burned out

maybe devote an entire week to stage playoffs instead of Sunday

I honestly don't think two games a week is the worst thing, I think a large chunk of it is the teams realizing they sometimes need to chill the fuck out.
Practicing for 6.5 days a week isn't always conducive, sometimes you're going to need to prep for one game over another.
And having a bench isn't bad if you can get solid players in multiple spots so you can rotate people around.
Physical athletes only train as much as they can to preserve the body. But your eyes and brain are as much of that and I don't think most pro-gamers have really keyed into it.

Overwatch has potential as a competitive event. Not sure how long this trend will last. There could always be something new to disrupt Overwatch. While established partnerships and grand final attendance are a success, things can easily reverse.

Who knows what will happen in 1 or 2 years? If teams do build their own stadium's and teams sell tickets, merchandise at reasonable level. Then perhaps there is staying power to help generate revenue like traditional sports to encourage these new or current team owners to continue to invest in Overwatch League.
Right now, Overwatch League is still fragile, and own residents of the respective team franchise may not feel the need to support them because their presence is minimal as of now. For example London Spitfire, how many times do they host events, etc for London fans? Think London's team wants to have fan meet ups in South Korea first before they do in London after their Grand Finals victory!
