I knew something was weird becaue NGA as the last standing Cn team? makes zero sense
Please not another tie
if its a tie we go again.......
pure dominance
This is their best translator.
Pretty good. I kind of expected worse.
Wow, pretty honest response.
Yeah I saw the translator for the Seagull interview on day 1
she wasn't strong enough and fellover her words
still, its a skill I could never achieve so I won't bash her on it
RIP NRG... again
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Teemo got fined for being lewd in twitch chat about an interviewer
what
We are big boys now, and we will behave like ones!
He went on twitch chat while someone from Reunited was getting interviewed and made lewd remarks about the interviewer
So he got fined
“gonna check those pantsus when im getting interviewed LUL,”
and
“I wanna explore that interviewer girls thighs Keepo.”
what do you mean fined?
Not that big a deal, but it's a finable offense so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
a revocation of the fight money for Friday’s match, valued at approximately $630.
fight money?
what
You know, a monetary penalization for an infraction
No
Like when you have to pay money for not following laws on the road
he got fined
Polo, this is how society works
for talking
in twitch chat
l o l
Um, yes
That is a ok since he is not just some twitch commenter, but an esport personality the interviewer is gonna have to deal with in the future
This is the equivalent of a coworker making sexual remarks about another coworker in a work enviroment
oh it wasnt some rando?
That is not ok in any work enviroment, except for the porn industry, probably
When I say "Teemo" I mean "Taimou"
:P
Why not just say Taimou :T
They are phonetically the same!
Anyway, teemo got fined and that made me giggle
Not the way I pronounce his name it isnt
Oh thats right
My bad, I was thinking in Spanish
As usual I guess
wut
Spanish speakers will get my wordplay
huehuehue
I know the way I pronounce Taimou is wrong but I dont think Teemo is right either
its like
Teemo is how Timo would be pronounced in Spanish
Yeah its supposed to be Timo
apparently
Yeah
like Tim-oh I think
I still just say Taymoo :p
As most do
TEEMOH FTW
This is the most I've talked in this channel
What an inconsequential little convo, back to serious biz
I'm pretty surprised he would say that though
I mean
I see the way he acts on stream sometimes
but still
I'm not exactly surprised but I'm a little disappointed that he didn't know better
maybe do it on an alt acc next time buddy
Twitch chat is and will always be cancer, yes, but as a personality, you are held to a higher standard
:^]
Pro-twitch tips
Since I'm already here
Is NRG still in the competition?
Dont think so
Thought so
I think LH knocked them out
tbh i thought Rogue would take this tourney easy
EZ
I wonder if its actually pronounced "tai mo".
ye, grab em before he explores your thighs
Gonna get his Tim all up that O ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
its Thigh-mou
No it isnt lol
Guys, I feel like im too quiet in voice com's. So what should I be keeping my team informed of@?
When is the Korean thing ending?
did anybody see the scores for the MGA AM Qualifier? I don't want to spoil it but...
how o.O
These casters for the MGA are garbage
They keep saying die die die and fire at will and just constantly talk
@valid schooner Start with warning the team about an incoming reaper that only you can see, that's excellent already
Are we ready for some APAC finals!
Tviq is incredible 👌
Tviq is on fire
hey guys. is there a site that gives out stats on a per esports match basis? Overbuff's esports tabs only gives stats on hero usage
u want gosugamers.net/overwatch my man
you are a saint, thanks!
np! 🐷
kinda want to track the APAC per matchup stats
cause honestly LH bringing back Genji is so dope
to answer the Ana strats
over.gg is another site u should bookmark too, to keep up with roster updates, upcoming events and it has a live match countdown thing which is super useful
yeah LH are really, really good
this sets been great and im glad Rogue have been able to best them
LH destroyed them earlier in the tourney twice
yeah, saw that one. that was the first time i saw the genji back after the nerf. its been refreshing
but i kinda want to see the stats breakdown since then
i want to see if its been actually useful or is beyblade strat still just better
genji still gets a fair amount of play in the pro scene
the genji strat is called a dive comp
you have winston+ genji/tracer and they jump on the backline
beyblade strat still better than it, but if your team has a strong genji then it's worth pulling out
Yeah, probably still overall more useful. genji's great on maps with a lot of verticality though.
oh god hollywood
might be a 4-1 here
now that APAC is over, could we get it removed from the title thingy :3
OGN's live https://www.twitch.tv/ognglobal
ogn is the tourney in korea right?
yes sir!
Indeed!
its cool ur in the right channel : )
i dunno, production value maybe? lol
APAC and APEX have godlikeee production value its incredible
Yeah I've been loving the production value
da bess
All the stats and highlights make me a happy viewer
I think it will go to bo5 later on in the competition, it's still the early rounds right now.
ah I see, everything else is pretty much the same in comp mode right?
I believe so!
yup yup
thanks guys!
what is this match lmao
it was so one sided
worst set of OW i've ever seen
great intro in esports lol
Yeah, that was awful. I guess NRG will have an easy game against MVP space on Wednesday.
yup its gonna be a while before everyone gets back home
they've got blizzcon after this too
i think that MSI tourney is later today not sure tho
It's a busy time of the year!
What was Envy doing on Volskaya right now? D:
It always makes me happy when I see a Dva Mei stall build get its asshole blown out
What game was it in the apec (i think) that had the attack bastion that rolled the team
@floral perch it was APEX, BK Stars vs MVP Space
Hey guys if you missed today's action in OGN's Apex you can catch up quickly with my overview. The match-ups for today were Kongdoo UNCIA vs MVP Space and Conbox T6(gamsu's team) vs EnVyUS.
https://medium.com/@followradon/overview-of-ogns-apex-group-stage-day-5-c09037fc7480
Apex hasn't finished yet
And APAC?
We are still going trough the group stages
PMed you as some might not want spoilers 😃
Well not really surprised that they won tbh
I was expecting them to stomp from the start but the Asian teams surprised me
Can you tell me via pm too? @pseudo sail
MSI tourney continues in an hour http://www.over.gg/
heard the casters are
not so gud
They're pretty shit
i wasnt even aware that it'd been going on all this time till someone said how bad the casters were
catching one of the vods they're not that bad
i take that back
@distant pawn no it wasn't that game. I want to say it was one of NRG's games though
MSI tourney is live https://www.twitch.tv/msigamingameu
in class U_U
nerdddddd
I play Guilty Gear a bit too lol

play more Street Fighter and Smash though
i wanna give V a solid shot but the netcode is so bad
it was fine when i was playing the beta on my ps4 though. Too bad i dont have a ps4 stick
Trying to figure out this mic shit
why are esport games stop watch but not ranked
they havent been stopwatch ever since timebank came to payload maps
inb4 tripple perfect
...tripple perfect.
quad perfect G fckin G
omg
omg
Of course you would like the literal waifu character lol @solid spear
She is nice lol
She has my favorite theme in the game
Im too busy playing with her
lol fair
i heard she got nerfed pretty hard in Rev so maybe its not so rough anymore
she did
shes still good though
u ever see Lost Souls elphelt?
oh you dont have a PS4?
i have ps4 but it lives in my little brothers room
he doesnt have a pc or anything so thats kinda his thing to do stuff on lol
oh U_U
havent played since the first Nioh beta
thats where I do most of my gaming
oh and 3ds but thats a totally different thing
but yeah...
esports
u see the NIP games?
not yet
they didnt die all set
ALL
who were they playing
SET
quad perfect, counting each round
a team i havent heard of before i forgot the name
Dignitas game was pretty free too
rough seeding
I dont even know who played today at all
I played a bunch of Revelator yesterday and apparently Slayer is literal bottom tier now? Like, Potemkin is above him
I would cry if I gave a shit. I will main him forever.
No one did answer me when I asked when the Korean competition ends
What do you think envyuses chances for blizzcon are ?
Im sorry, what?
Some of Envy's members are at Blizzcon but they're on different teams for the world cup. Is that what you're talking about?
Hey guys, I'm attending BlizzCon this year, and to pass sometime, I'll be hanging out watching the Overwatch competition shit. I'm not following Overwatch esports at all. Any people or teams to look out for so I can warm up to BlizzCon?
The Blizzcon tourney is a lot less serious because, technically anyway, there's no prize at the end for who comes 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.
Also the teams are players from the same country
Not actual eSports teams
Yeah, EnvyUs isn't participating
it's players are, but representing their respective home countries
Not as "Envy"
Sweden is going to dominate this tourney.
Eh, I dunno about that
I have no predictions for the World Cup finals since there are so many great players shuffled around
I have no idea which teams will have the best synergy, 'cuz there is talent everywhere
I'll always be rooting for USA
for my boy ster
Mah boi Talespin is there too
And it would be nice to see Seagull on a winning team, for once
Then again, I'm also rooting for Spain and Canada
Team Canda
Has poke
r i p
ik ik
I'm hoping Sure4 can carry him
he aint that good
ID and Sure4 though
Their team looks alright
Also with Team Sweden, im just going off of how stacked they are
TviQ and Iddqd
<3
Team Germany is looking pretty good too
I don't put that much stock into TviQ and iddqd. Sure they are good, but not exceptionally so compared to everyone else
In my eyes
Oh shit Chips is there too
kk
They are pretty stacked
It is known.
wait a minute
Is babybay Jerma?
No
Jerma's account is called SqueakySquak
kk
Who the fuck is babybay then?
'cuz I hate him
And I hate Jerma, so I thought I was onto something
Idk man
Where did you find him?
Is he on a team?
I'd be rooting for the UK if we didn't suck dick already. 😦
Is there like a site where we can see what teams are left?
I can tell you which are left
Germany, Finland, France, Sweden, Russia, Spain, USA, Canada, Brazil, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, ANZ. @wanton bronze
They're all here too https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/blog/20279912
:p
👍
Mendo just said on stream that RN 2-0'd C9
when did this happen
and how
RN?
Rise Nation
man I wish liquipedia wasnt so shit
RN 2-0'd C9 2 days ago 😮
Rise Nation is actually really good
never heard of them
u guys see the double perfect NIP set last night though?
thats gotta be up there with the EnvyUS spawn camping Complexity on Dorado shit
I will have to watch it later!
🐷
Rise Nation has swept new c9, the 2 times they've played
I started following them when they knocked out Complexity in groups for OW open
I mean, most teams apart from fnatic and envyus who made it to teh playoffs seem like they could beat eachother any day
Rise Nation is indeed an intresting team to follow, not a lot of big names but they have 6 impressive players.
I never actually followed rise nation, I only saw their match against nrg back in the qualifiers, but they seemed fairly strong there
no surprise that they beat c9, especially since c9 just lost half their roster and are still doing tryouts
They won a cow open as "gecko fox" if you want to find more vods
Individually pretty impressive
method is surprisingly strong, I doubt that anyone expected them to beat c9
yeah
well, c9 beat them during the losers bracket, but its still impressive for a team that I didn't have too high expectations for going in
they had a great showing
especially ultimawep, the dudes a beast
Method is a strong team with good individual players, but sadly they failed the dreamhack quialifier against FaZe by losing 2-1
method also seem like all around really cool people
I think if method will focus more on teamplay they could be a top tier team
Now that faze is a us team, I could honestly put them up as, maybe the 3rd best in the usa after envy and fnatic
complexity
Faze is very strong, although I have yet to watch them go up against a us team, I haven't kept too much track of the smaller tournaments, not enough time
wouldn't expect them to beat FaZ
is also a good team though
FaZe*
i'd like to see FaZe vs Fnatic vs new C9 in a round robin tbh to see who's #2 NA
I'd assume that envy finished first?
actually FaZe has faced C9 recently though i forget the results
huh, okay, fnatic. But yeah, fnatic is pretty good to
oh yeah, thighmou
I forgot, apex
x'D
oh shit, lunatic hai is going up against envy?
mmm
@gentle shuttle Cloud9 won with 3-1 in the alienware monthly against FaZe?
i think you mean that match?
yeah thats the one, thanks
Lunatic Hai is a strong team for the korean scene but not as good as envy
in the APAC finals envy won with 4-1
I had like really high hopes for the new C9
the new c9 would be intresting
Envy faced Lunatic Hai already?
They're better than before imo but they're still not doing particularly well
give c9 some time
Yeah they did
man im forgetting so much shit
in the APAC premier
Mendo + Surefour trade between eachother for 4ks
that duo is really fun to watch
and the both of them can play the same heroes without much drop off in performance
lol, reminds me of c9 of the old days
I feel like mendo is better than him though
It was a plessure to watch surefour and mendo at the alienware
a little bit
I bet they miss hero stacking
when they start fraggin out it looks like they're just streaming pub play
I just hope that c9 becomes better again
I see potential, I'll just give them some time
they've got Ryb the gawd too
oh shit, ryb joined too
pretty sure Roolfe was playing support for them the other day too
Because Mendo is only on trial
during the MSI tourney
Krawnic is my big monkwy
kinda wish one of the moderators would update the current tourney thing at the top ^
should remove APAC and include the MSI one
ye, its misleading
Got arm on it
they're looking for new mods though
arm is a mod again?
Yes
Yah
We don't dedicate mods
Theres no dedicated channel mods
o i c
Also I'll look into it, I've just got in from uni and it was chucking it down.
lol, are you guys changing the logo longer than usually?
Give me a minute to do stuff.
'preciated
@toxic yacht Probably because AMIC is ending soon
6 iirc
ughhhh
The website tracking the offsets and shit is down because of traffic
well at least the MSI tourney starts in a little under 2 hrs. Dignitas vs NIP will be interesting
yea
i cant get on that site for shit now
When I checked it this morning it was scheduled to end at 7pm my time
but now i guess its 11pm?
dignitas? Isn't Veineless part of it?
yup he's playing support
play supp
nice, I'll definitely watch it
weird not seeing Draceus on Ana. I think he lowkey has one of the best Ana's in the world
both matches would be intresting also LDLC vs Melty not both raelly top tier teams but i think they are at the same level of play so i guess that would also be an intresting match
ster best ana
ster is a pretty gud ana
I can almost guarantee he has answered that question on his stream
yeah, you're probably right
He probably has
@gentle shuttle stream link would be nice if you have it?
didn't mean to sound rude there .-.
ESpoRts
@wheat karma https://www.twitch.tv/msigamingameu
apex is still going and will stay in there
msi it is, I guess
We have plenty of room in the banner
oh, I didnt see it in the banner
Well APAC is done so no need for it anymore
I'm retarded
ye, it finished, rogue won iirc
finals were rogue vs lunatic hai after hai beat nrg
tbh rogue vs nrg would have been lovely
yeah but they would have destroyed them
spolier
@wheat karma no worries i didnt take it the wrong way 🐷
was in the middle of a match
no surprise there, nrg vs rogue would have been a massacre
Me too!
coz i thought for sure that would have been a massacre
They have been playing better than ever but they still have a ways to go.
@vestal mortar yup being out in Asia is helping them a lot
same goes for Rogue and Envy too, at least it seems like to me
Indeed, spending time together, getting the team communication up to scratch.
we live ladies and germs https://www.twitch.tv/msigamingameu
minus the shitty cancer twitch chat
https://player.twitch.tv/?channel=msigamingameu&html5
I find it hard to enjoy and get excited by ow (and other fps) esports
like so much of the game is your team comms and how good your aim is
which you can't really see
but I'm pretty nub. what do y'all like about watching on?
ow*
seeing how pros play the heroes i do and seeing how theyre better mechanically and strategically
helps me to imrpove
there's a lot you can learn by watching
that's true
you actually get some utility out of it
vs like watching sc2 esports.. I don't have even close to pro apm, can't do close to anything they're doing lol
i mean it's the same with any sport or competitive activity
if you have no idea what's going you cant tell what's a good or bad play
it's all just noise
that's the dream Ozymil
but I feel like what results in a good play or a good team fight is inherently not obvious
thats why the pro scene needs to get as big as posible
eg aim and team comms
it really helps get everyone on the same page in pub play n stuff
Junkrat mains wont ever change tho : (
that's what shoutcasters are for
good shoutcasters, anyways
and post-game discussions
I'll give it a shot
if you really wanna break down pro gameplay you can't relegate to solely examining everything in the moment
spotting good plays on the fly is a lot of fun to do
but that comes with a certain understanding of the meta, mechanics, and synergy
ehh learning all that sounds like work lol
it's not work if you enjoy it 😄
In 1 hour OGN's Apex returns for day 6 with Afreeca Blue vs Rogue & MVP Space vs NRG on twitch.tv/ognglobal . The debut for both the US and EU squads in the tournament! If you missed Monday's matches you can catch up with my overview of the action at: https://medium.com/@followradon/overview-of-ogns-apex-group-stage-day-5-c09037fc7480
If you want to catch up with the whole tournament you can find summaries for the other playdays as well at: https://medium.com/@followradon/
Nice! thanks
you can really the difference between east and west teams.
east has better supports, west has better (deeper hero pools) attackers
Lol that Hanzo tho
his McCree is good too
Arhan's supposed to be in the top 3 Genji's in KR out of the pro teams at least
along with Nanohana and Haksal da gawd
production value
are they playing right now?
Yep!
i bet it's on tiwtch
OGNGlobal
well nrg rolled mvp
They weren't doing so well at first but they managed to get better

Yeah im thinking there's no shortage of good genjis out of korea, but they really need to step up and get better Reapers. watching Recry on reaper was painful
he does have a good hanzo and mccree though. maybe he's more comfortable playing mid-long range
instead of up close
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
nice
For people who missed today's Apex matches. Here's my Overview: apple pie's debut, map , player and teams to watch!
Today's match-ups were Afreeca Freecs Blue vs Rogue & MVP Space vs NRG; debut on OGN for both Rogue & NRG :)
UltimaWep's streaming https://www.twitch.tv/ultimawep1
oh, btw, seagull was streaming with lunatic hai some time back
i sometimes don't quite understand esports and all of its vitriol
maybe i haven't dabbled enough
but i think seagull's quite skilled, and then there's so many people saying he's shit
im not offended being a fan of seagull, but i am actually confused
is seagull really not good?
before genji nerfs he was pretty much a god, after he played mei/hanzo
He's good. You have to be a baseline level of good to compete. It's just that he's outclassed in some heroes by less popular people
people just like to shit on him because of his fame
oh
i like seagull quite a bit actually, and i don't say that for pretty much all pro gamers
he's super relaxed and doesn't rage in his videos
yeah he's entertaining and informative
pretty much what Sandata said, @jovial eagle. He is definitely a very good player, even among professionals, but he most definitely isn't the best. He is also a flex player, which probably somewhat inhibits his performance since he doesn't foucs on a pool of 1-3 dps or something. Then there's obviously the fame. He is a succesful streamer and a pro, so that will obviously attract some negative attention
there's also the factor of the definition of best isn't it
because i've seen shadder2k's genji plays and they're ridiculous
heck even seagull thinks shadder's awesome haha
seagull acknowlegded that shadder is better than him. And anyone who has seen shadowburn would never say that seagull the best genji. Shadder and Shadowburn look like robots when they play genji
yeah, he dies very often. Seagull plays a bit more passively to charge up his ult before swording in when its necessary. I generally prefer Shadder's playstyle since I also play a very aggressive genji (and die often, get my ult extremely frequently though). Shadder also looks more impressive overall when he plays imo since he is flat out better, especially with his aim.
but mei though. Seagull is one of the few pros who actually enjoy playing mei and always streams with her. Wouldn't be shocked if he is among the best meis around.
i thought he thinks mei's ademon
but yeah seagull on mei is incredible
he's saved people from roadhog hooks with wall
his walls are always on point, its amazing to see how fast and accurately he places them. I still miss his genji though
Seagull was the reason why I started with Genji in the first place, so it's disappointing to see him so rarely
rip genji
but yeah
so many things i learned from him
mei is legitimate counter for bastion, it's so troll especially on hanamura defense
oh god, 2cp maps, especially hanamura are so horrid. Even more so since mei was buffed. This gamemode is the main reason why I wish ow had something like csgo where you could select your competitive match pool
you shouldn't be chasing off the entire enemy team twice per teamfight
mei was the only hero who wasn't hit by the self healing nerf, probably because of her low pickrates at the time. Now that she is more viable, they can also put her in line with the other heroes. Getting back 100hp every few seconds is no joke
@jovial eagle Seagull's hero pool is kinda lack luster compared to the other DPS players for other teams
he plays genji, hanzo, mei and out of them i'd say his mei has the best chances of being better than other players mei's
there are times he absolutely goes ham with his Genji but it seems few and far between. NRG vs Rize Nation is a good example
he didnt die once on Liijang
specialization isn't good even with pros eh
yup
the difference in pub stomping and pro play is really night and day
i used to think he was the best too 🐷
pro is about teamwork i think for the most part
nrg had no response to lunatic hai rip
they played really well i think
i think most people would've thought that would be a free 3-0 for Lunatic
being out in asia seems to be levelling them up which is good
noice
nrg had some very questionable plays against hai, like that single gravtion surge, how god didn't chase that reaper and went for ryujehong instead of him and lost etc.
but yeah, overall they did really well
yeah, no, spectating overwatch is already confusing enough. I doubt that vr would improve it, although it seems like a fun little gimick
https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/58ha7c/overwatch_hero_meta_report_its_the_wests_world/ can we talk about the fact that half the roster is in F tier?
tbh it's always been like this. I mean, I dont need to explain why torb and symmetra aren't there, junk is too situational and feedy, Widow is still a dumpster fire, 76 is really not needed in the current meta and is objectively worse than mccree in high level play, mercy is not needed because of zenyatta and ana, pharah is kill because of mccree, basion lol, dva gets deleted by zarya and has almost nothing that winston does not do better and hanzo is too inconsistent
and most of this can be blamed on ana and lucio
more like half of it
Ranking heroes based on playrate is pretty subjective to how good you think they are though. Despite being F teir ( not meaning they are bad) teams have been winning using picks like pharah and bastion
It was recent that NRG put seagull on bastion being buffed by mercy on the first point of numbani and they won the round
I mean, they mainly managed it because splyce wasn't that great of a team. They tried the same thing with liquid, got completely destroyed and almost risked the map for it (although they still won it)
So far, this is the best line-up we've had for an OW tourney to date https://twitter.com/PlayOverwatch/status/789278853810098176
He used to do behind the scenes stuff in esports matches
And I think it's a gd idea to get insight from an actual player too
Also I just realised I've run into the Team Captain of Team Bulgaria a few times in ranked
What's his name
mystogan
Fairy Tale reference lol. What a throwback
He is a really good widow
Only if I was on Ireland's team lel
Looks like the big players for EU are Sweden, Germany, Finland, France, Russia and Spain
@gentle shuttle weeb smh
@balmy wolf I uh lost a bet
Suuurrrree
I forgot his name. Lemme find the article
I ain't know Hafficool was such a dick
Got dat burn doe
@swift rapids #lf-players-na
Hey everyone, in just under 2 hours OGN's Apex returns with Rhinos Gaming Titan vs Rogue and one of the most expected match-ups: Lunatic-Hai vs EnVyUS at https://www.twitch.tv/ognglobal!
If you missed wednesday's action of Afreeca Blue vs Rogue & NRG's debut vs MVP Space you can catch up with my summary of the day, including 'maps, players and teams to watch' list :
https://medium.com/@followradon/overview-of-ogns-apex-group-stage-day-6-apple-pie-s-debut-bd57dffe0e73
If you are interested to know more about the other matches of the tournament so far you can check out the summaries and my picks for 'maps, players and teams to watch' of the rest of the days at https://twitter.com/followradon
Well it is lame what happened to Hafficol
there team was doing decent
and then two of their supports get picked up by Dig
and then they lose Spree to LG
Both Dig and LG losing to NWA the team the players left from
questionable
but I guess I understand
that does suck, seeing it from that perspective
if they'd all stayed together they probably would've been picked up by an org in a matter of time
Yeah it's unlucky for Ninjas with Attitude they are a strong team but because there are bigger orgs. intrested in the players and Ninjas with Attitude is a team by the players it's some what logic the players leave to bigger orgs. But I'm still wondering when Hafficool will get a big oppertunity hes such a great player
LH vs Envy was so good!
taimouW 🔫
taibow
talespin plz
ikr
Overwatch World Cup Groups announced: https://www.facebook.com/PlayOverwatch/videos/691707264320418/
hmm
this...is new to me
Group draw?
I don't even know what's happening with that anymore
I have heard absolutely nothing about any of the teams in the Americas
Well america is gonna lose in their group xD
IDDQD stepped down : (
he will talk about it later so yeh
man, its so disappointing. Iddqd is one of the best hitscan players in the scene, kinda sad to see him leave them.
I wonder where he is going from here and who his replacement is going to be
Stepped down from team or esports in general ?
from fnatic roster
iirc he is still part of fnatic, just not playing anymore or something
"Iddqd takes a step down from his starter position but will remain part of our organisation until further notice."
so yeah it's just waiting on what iddqd will say
he will clear it up later, he said he'll make an official statement once he is back at his pc or something
yup
Well the winners of the groups seem kinda obvious
How many of the matches were actually shown to us?
I have literally only seen the EU teams
Im pretty sure they all were
in one language or another
The outcome of the group stages though were super obvious
link?
TwoEasy vanished
iddqd is subbing
lul, I definitely wasn't expecting to see him there of all places, Shadowburn + Iddqd vs mendo and surefour
dis gon be fun
its just for today
ohh shit, twoeasy is in the lobby 😦
ow no iddqd
lmao this guys name is really Jesus
Kingdom is lit
This may not be esports related by it's featuring two of the best Korean players out there, Haksal and Mirage
but it's funny as fuck so I wanted to share it with you guys
x'DD
The video after that was just as good @twilit python
I think people will be making alotta money of OW eSports
not matching league or cs go yet but it will be close up there
I mean they want to hold a world championship similar to that of league
and knowing blizzard
they can do it really fucking easily
Hey everyone, in just under 2 hours OGN's Apex returns with Rhinos Gaming Titan vs Rogue and one of the most expected match-ups: Lunatic-Hai vs EnVyUS at https://www.twitch.tv/ognglobal!
If you missed Friday's action in OGN's Apex you can catch up with my summary of the day, including 'maps, players and teams to watch' list. The match-ups were RGT vs the European powerhouse and APAC champions Rogue and the long-awaited meeting of Lunatic-Hai (widely regarded as best KR team) vs the famous EnVyUS.
If you are interested to know more about the other matches of the tournament so far you can check out the summaries and my picks for 'maps, players and teams to watch' of the rest of the days at https://twitter.com/followradon

that was crazyyyy
i fell asleep during the tourney since it was late over here
i'm also probably in the minority here, but I think Slasher makes a great addition to ZP+Hex's duo. Would love to see the three of them do bigger events but ah well

luuuul
well, remember how misfits almost fucked up overtime on eichenwalde vs rogue? When they all left the payload? Good to know that shit like this even happens at pro level
loool
FaZe, Kingdom, Complexity, H2K
Harbleu's girlfriend's going ham on Reaper
Esper is bae
if you mean Esper support player, he plays for H2K according to Liquipedia @inner sequoia
Holy shit Group B for the World Cup is gonna be 🔥
USA, Germany and Russia going at each other right from get go
HYPE
And then there is Chile lol
Probably the only group that doesnt have 2 clear winners
I'd say it'll be Germany and Russia though
what is a Chinese Taipei tho
It's the Republic of China
Russia and USA are interchangable id say
Group A also has the potential to be lit, but I say potential 'cuz 🇨🇦 and 🇪🇸 are a bit of a question mark
Germany tho I think is through
Also, fuck you Blizz
Putting both of the teams I'm rooting for in the same Group
Well and USA, of course
Its 2 per group
2 that get through
My predictions
Group A: Sweden, Spain
Group B: Germany, Russia
Group C: Finland, South Korea
Group D: China, France
nice formatting
thanks lel
I agree with Group C and D
I am unsure about A and B
Germany is gonna go through no matter what, but that's the only certainty I have
really?
yeah
Can't think of any other team that is guaranteed to go through?
nope
Not even Sweden
._.
I wouldnt say Germany is going through 100%
I'd say that about Sweden
Germany still has a chance of losing
Oh wow the matches were revealed
unless this is just a placeholder
I disagree. I think Germany is the strongest team
Eh, that wasn't a reveal
That was a demonstration of how the World Cup matching is gonna work in the vid explaining the World Cup
I wouldn't take it as hard-proof
Yeah that is why I said "unless this is just a placeholder"
Also im curious @balmy wolf Why do you think Germany is the better team?
world cup is at a really shitty time in my timezone, although it'll be on the weekend
I'll try to watch, also USA vs Russia hype
I think the finals will be two EU teams, probably something with sweden and germany. EU is fucking stacked. I'm also pretty hyped for Korea
Just the impression I got from the qualifiers
Korea with those Lunatic Hai members. They're for sure gonna do well
At least we have Shadowburn
@balmy wolf I didnt actually watch all the qualifiers because the outcomes were so obvious. I was just going the the lineups
its funny, there was a Overwatch podcast on about an hour ago with Fishtix, Flame and Mangachu (i forgot the hosts name i feel pretty bad :((( ) and they were discussing who'd win in a Genji 1v1 between Haksal, Shadowburn and a few others
shadowburn would win
i'd like to see Haksal vs SDB that'd be hype af
Germany will lose to Russia easily
even with Cypher not being able to make it
It will be a stomp I think
Finland vs Korea is going to be interesting
You sound pretty sure of that
I like that
Will make it more interesting when Germany comes out on top 😛
WE SHALL SEE
BROTHER
time to make some bets
I would have been fine with nudes
I will feign surprise
😄
Finland numba 1
good morning everyone, I just posted this week's meta report! check it out ~ https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/59i3vr/overwatch_hero_meta_report_a_meta_divided/
focused on east vs. west differences that have arisen this week
#overwatch will get triggered again
@frank frigate We love you, keep up the good work
Good to see my boy Zen back up to C-Tier. I'll play him until he's not even listed anymore #OmnicLivesMatter
lol
@frank frigate love the reports
do you think it's still relevant to have the S tier ?
I mean, with Blizzard making progress on hero balance, I think (at least hope) we won't see heroes re-entering it anytime soon
I guess it doesn't really matter, but I'm a bit bothered that >20% usage rate (which is actually fairly balanced) ends up being C tier
scratch that, it doesn't matter actually 😃
ummm yes and no
its basically like the "canary in a coal mine" tier
if something actually hits it, we got a problem hurr
well thing is about the C tier, I think i once calculated what a "perfectly balanced" meta would turn out to in terms of hero usage. this is assuming an ideal scenario of like, perfect hero swapping so that every hero was played the same amount, and that it accounted for 100% of a match time
i think the numbers shook out to like, ~16% usage per hero
probably a percent or two lower now that ana is in the pool
so it makes sense for "balanced" heroes to fall within that range
but yea its like you said, balance is a subjective subject at best
all i can do is report what objective numbers i can, and give appropriate context
which you do well don't get me wrong
👌

c'mon, I can't be the only one who fainted when he saw Ster and Seagull on the same team
@twilit python wait whaaaaat Cypher's not there? : (
So, I presume that we'll all be watching the cup together?
so....
the world cup group matches will be played in So Cal?
starting saturday?
Oct 29.
Yes
In Anaheim
is there anyway to go there ant watch?
and
i wanna go see that shit
You have to buy a ticket to Blizzcon
lame
didnt make it in time
I dont know if these matches are actually like watchable at Blizzcon
Because Blizzcon actually starts on the 4th
They're being streamed though
right
it looks like they are at the concention center
but it doesnt look like anyones there
What
im watching one of the streams right now
for SC
it looks like they are at the convention center
but it doesnt appear to be anyone in the audience
theres no live audience for those broadcasts during opening week
theyre not at the convention center, they are at a studio
pretty sure finals will be sweden vs korea
and korea will 3-0 them
maybe tviq can hard carry them but i doubt it
unlucky that french fans threw their own countries chances at winning with 4/6 the people they voted in
tfw they didnt vote in aKm
smh
I heard something about Cypher not being able to make it or something?
Is that true?
tfw no akm / soon / unkoe or winzz
thats only because rogue has 4 french players lol
Yeah...
Ehh, remember, the voting happened befpre Rogue got this popular, so it's somewhat understandable why aKm isn't in. Still dumb though.
guys quick
rogue is a team right?
anyone know the in game name of their manager?
quiick quick quick
@frail skiff Mitsy
actually im starting to doubt this dude
rogue only has one manager
which is mitsy
frank is the ceo
according to TL wiki at least
I wonder why it was a nice read for you 😛
😉
@dull atlas Post that in #overwatch-serious instead - this channel is for pro scene stuff (tourneys, teams, etc.)!
still kinda sad that the channel is so inactive, hope that the scene growsn enough and this place stops being ~15 of the same people having discussions
called it
called it when the channel was made?
yeah, no real surprise there, it was kind of to be expected, but it's still fairly disappointing to see the channel name always be grey
Probably Sweden
Dandy is with germany though I think
Yeah Dandy is really riding that germany train
Aye indeed
Its between South Korea and Sweden
Agree.
I'm still hoping that usa survives russia and germany, somehow
I mean, adam and tailspin are in the same group, so we could potentially see a pharmecy (although I doubt it)
Apparently Cypher cant make it
Overwatch should be promoting the competitive scene in-game
Or at least in the battle.net launcher
Or they might already do that?
Like when an event is on-going, click baits to watch the twitch stream
No they dont do that
They really should lol
nah, they dont, ZP explained why on /r/comptetitiveoverwatch at some point
So what was the reason?
Ah alright
but the world cup is hosted by blizz, so they should have an easier time promoting it, I think
Yeah, yet no promotion within the client/launcher thus far lol
Fair enough I guess
I stil wish that they'd put more effort into it though
the good thing is that the scene is rather easy to get into since it's still so small
