Like Reaper
Hold on, go to the last panel of the comic
It's not actually true
GO TO THE LAST PANEL
Yes
The window
it's there for the audience
ohhh they did one of those
I think that’s just a window sticker
it's like an "ouuuu but what if it's real???" kind of thing
like a horror movie trope
Poor Reinhardt
I’m gonna believe it’s real because that’s funny
I love Ana just taking pictures
Did Moria just go Edna mode on the suit?
@raven sluice honestly that would be incharacter for Moira
Maybe she's to thank for Tracer's BBQ archive
Tracer can't be grill master
honestly that would be incharacter for Moira
how? Moira doesn't sew or make costumes
Nope
Only Soldier can
there's a lot of things you don't know about me
Moira said she was disappointed she couldn't catch the Maskerate
there's a lot of things you don't know about me
@valid terrace also this
His amp matrix isn't confirmed yet afaik
Not explained how it works though :/
I was thinking about specifically amp matrix and immortality field
We haven't seen amp matrix yet
Hear me out
immortality field doesn't appear to be hard light
So first, the amp matrix, which isn’t canon
Immortality Field is unexplained, but we know he built it himself
Immortality field uses some kind of impact suppression tech
I was thinking it gives the bullets a layer of hard light that make them do more damage
Somehow
And for the field I was thinking it gives a protective layer of hard light that quickly regenerates whenever someone shoots at the layer
Regenerates faster than bullets
But that’s my theories
That's not how it worked in the story
How did it work?
He was still banged up but breathing after an explosion
Hmm
Although there is protection around your health bar
Yes
Unbreachable protection
Yes, but what you’re proposing would block all damage
In lore it likely just dampens impacts but doesn't stop them like hard light would
if it just dampens impacts, wouldn't a big enough impact kill you still?
or am i misunderstanding
If that were the case, yes
Yes
But I doubt it truly makes you immortal/unkillable canonically
What are we arguing about now?
we're not arguing
Not necessarily arguing, just hypothesizing
Good!
It dampens them until a certain point but blocks it at a certain point entirely

So you guys talking about Baptistes immortality field?
Again, we don’t know if it truly makes you unkillable (highly likely it doesn’t)
Yeah
I thought it created a barrier around the human
Technically yes
Enough to save their live but not enough to stop all damage
But not like any we're used to
We just know it doesn’t block all the damage, but does greatly reduce it
Just to stop enough damage so it doesn't kill the guy but saves his life
It reduces incoming damage
Side note: it also has a button
But if enough damage comes in, even when reduced it should kill you
it has a button?
On the top
That’s how it turns on
Side note: it also has a button
@terse oar based
You can see it in his highlight
It’s also mentioned in his short story
Hey guys what's your head canon for Mccrees robo arm (how he lost it or his opinion on the unnatural limb)
It took him awhile to get used to it (Genji interaction) and he lost it after OW fell (based off skins and timelines)
As for how he lost it,
what i wanna know is why he wont tell anyone how he lost it
Probably just doesn’t think it’s a big deal
It's a story for another time
I like to think his ashamed of it.
But he wasn't all winey and angsty about like Genji but he hid his emotions deep down about it
I mean his poncho covers his robot arm
Not his human arm
It could maybe be mentioned in the Deadlock book coming (if they cover a little bit of the present)
I thought the poncho covered his other arm since he shoots with his right
So it won’t get in the way
Bob was more of Dad to Ashe then her real dad was
Yes
That's probably gunna be a plot point
Bob taking care of his winey spoilt human flesh baby
Why doesn’t lucio say damnit when hit by zenyattas discord orb?
Isn’t zen like the only one that doesn’t?
And zen makes sense at least
They don’t have to say “dammit”
How so?
Junkrat says "piece of junk" when he's hit with discord

Dang
it's just a personality thing, i assume
Also do you think Zen used Discord on Genji to strengthen his mind and resolve
I call bs on that, even mercy and tracer say damn it
He doesn’t either?
@raven sluice Junkrat also says dammit
I mean, I don’t really see how they’d explain it
They don't explain a lot in the lore
Does it whisper bad thoughts into your ear? I don’t see how’d it make sense
Does it whisper bad thoughts into your ear? I don’t see how’d it make sense
@terse oar thats how i imagine it
That's why I said increase his mental strength
The Discord orb would whisper all your doubts and weakness
technically, i believe it was once stated that the "orbs" are supposed to represent zen's ability to use words to his advantage or something
you know how he says something when he puts an orb on someone? it's that
i think.
That would be cool
Probably
That way they can fit Dva into a mission
And then I hope we get the Gwishin Omnium as an underwater map for PvP
Like the actual Gwishin
Not the Bastions or the squid drones
The massive fuck huge titian killer Omnic that regenerates every year to fight the Meka squad
That would be a spectical
No better idea
The Level is on the Gwishin itself!
Like it's stomping around Korea and you have to kill it from the inside
Then you fight those squid drones and Gwishin bastions
The Titan in the Torbjorn comic was like that, so maybe
dva and who though?
Those titians are more Omnic crisis tech
It could also be similar to Mega Leg in Mario Galaxy (you climb up the robot)
It would probably be the Null Sector titian
D.va and some overwatch peeps or her squad if they get added into OW2
Speaking of the Null sector titian
It looks like something out of Metal gear
Do you think we'll fight the
Gwishin
Maybe not at launch, but hopefully later down the line
Launch is probably centered around Null Sector, and we will probably fight Talon and one other faction sometimes during the campaign as well
That's my expectations
I hope we'll get multiple seasons/story arcs
I really hope that, alongside with the main plotline, we get several other, smaller plotlines
Like fighting against the Gwishin
My guess is they’ll have the launch campaign, then either make half a sequel or a new storyline the next year for anniversary
Ok
I think the Deadlock book will mainly focus on Ashe
I hope so
I wonder if she became like this because of horrible parenting or something else
Judging from her origin trailer, that definitely is a main factor
Parents not disciplining/giving her enough attention
theres also a few little details I would like to know, like why does Ashe have white hair, or does she have any siblings, etc
my bet is designer baby
and if she had any siblings she probably wouldn't have felt so alone
Probs lack of attention / care from parents, bob as only caretaker, and lack of restrictions / rules
She basically grew up thinking no one but bob cared for her and she could do as she pleased
So she became reckless as u saw she got in alot of law trouble (mugshots stuff)
And she wanted her own ‘family’ aka the deadlock gang
We will know for sure in the novel next year
Honestly everything Katie said sounds about right
Bob was Ashe's butler during her childhood. Since Ashe's parents were so busy, Bob took the majority of the responsibility of raising and caring for Ashe. Bob remained supportive, protective and loyal to Ashe even as she descended into delinquency.
For more information about the game, please refer to the wiki: https://overwatch.gamepedia.com/Ashe
the idea is still the same
Hey guys
Could you imagine Storm Rising from one of the Talon Troopers perspectives
Like worst day ever
Being beaten to death by a flying Gorilla sucks
Or being disembowled by a magic sword would succ
It's always the situation where the heroes will basically kill the henchmen but then spare the villian''s life 'because u need a second chance'
I guess that's just how those type's of stories go
although batman, for example only critically injures the henchmen, but doesn't kill them
For example, take Baptiste, he only joined Talon because of poverty.
That, and the fact that he felt like he didn't have a choice, when in reality he did
But technically he still broke the law
That, and the fact that he felt like he didn't have a choice, when in reality he did
@swift mason Did he have a choice?
Which one?
In his origin trailer
Well, he was in the military, then he was just hired by Talon, he just didn't know the whole situation.
And his mind was clouded by good rewards and easy tasks
And then what?
It's not his fault that he was deceived
Obviously he saw that Talon kept on becoming corrupt, but he couldn't just leave, but he did leave, now the consequence for that is being constantly chased by talon agents to 'convince' him to come back
It's not necesarrily a fault, but more of a burden he now has to live with
The fact that he did have a choice to do something else when he thought there were no choices left
They only gave him the tragic back story because he's a named character
Maybe some of the Talon soldiers we brutally murder came from poverty too
Most talon agents, other than baptiste of course, seem to be pretty content with working for an evil organisation, The following spoiler is a spoiler for Hero of Numbani, || Take Efi's cousin for example, he abandoned his family and is now super involved with talon and seems to be loyal to doomfist||
from the point of view of morality, their cases need to be analyzed in detail, and from the point of view of the law, absolutely all of them are terrorists
Still though I refuse Baptiste is the ONLY Talon member who doesn't like what they are doing
I don't like the idea of every Talon meat head being "hue hue hue yes evil"
I actually word of preferred if Talon was your evil criminal empire with super villains instead of Dumbfists dumb goal
Talon recruited members secretly, gradually tightening the tasks, thereby trying to instill cruelty, then they turned into ordinary terrorists.
Well, at least in the history of Baptiste it was told like this.
Speaking of our favourite goths is confirmed that Moira was in Kahoots with Talon the whole time
Make sense Moira would lend her skills to the highest bidder
Also it would explain why the Talon enemies had their advanced stuffs thats similar to Overwatch stuff
sucks to know that zenyatta's abilities arent canon
its literally made up ones so hes able to be a playable character
I don't think that's a hundred percent true
But given his melee attack he probably knows some sort of marshal art
We know that they don't work exactly as they do in game
but that's the case for many others too
I like to imagine Discord manifests all a characters doubt and fear when used
Mondata is the real mvp tbh
How come?
oh i was talkin more about his abilities
not his primary or secondary fire
or.. well.. his melee
his whole concept is like "oh a floating robot that seeks peace and shoots energy orbs"
I’m just curious to see how he interacts with the storyline of ow2
Mondata got 360 no scoped by Window Maker lol
so pretty much everything else wasnt thought out right
ow3? damn thatll be in year 3030
!!shitposting
Shitposting will result in a loss of access.
pls
I meant 2 whoops
Mondata got 360 no scoped by Window Maker lol
@supple badge more like 360 scoped
im not sure if zen will actually be like part of battle but rather just exist between scenes
I’m just curious to see how he interacts with the storyline of ow2
@swift mason probably to give back story or give some dumb motivational speech lol
it seems better for his character anyways
Yeah that makes sense
I can see Zen actively participating in a battle if it's like
his village being attacked
That might be likely
does he float in the lore?
He does believe in using force to defend
or walk?
he floats
sickk
why would they attack the village in the first place
He’s floating in the gameplay trailer
I'm sure there's a reason
In that cutscene
He also does in Reflections
prolly people who hate omnics idk
im not surprised that hes floating in lore, its the future
Null Sector may also attack the shambali
I don't
I don't think there is any way to link Zenyatta to the current story.
The only good reason for a character to die is to give some emotional weight to a conclusion of the arc
but if they return that goes out the window
i mean bastion is a full machine, so he could be rebuilt entirely
i mean rein is a good candidate for dying
i mean rein is a good candidate for dying
@cerulean ice why?
that's
not a character arc
im joking
you're not doing it well then
"i will fight till my last breath" thingy magicy
True
bruh chill lol

you sound like youre mad at me
yes, but actually no
I'm not, that I can promise
Anyway
They're not going to show us a death that we're supposed to believe, even with robots
If they do "die" in a short it will be like Snowball in Rise and Shine
But Jeff did say that they were thinking about killing off a playable character in the future, but they’d remain playable
where they go out in beginning/middle of the short but then wake up by the end
But Jeff did say that they were thinking about killing off a playable character in the future, but they’d remain playable
@swift mason Zen mb
He said they wouldn't completely rule out the possibility
not really that they were thinking about it
I said they were thinking about it
its a possibility regardless
IIRC it was around the time where in League a character died in lore so they got blocked off in game for like a week or something
which was a shitshow
I mean, Zenyatta is not needed for the current story at all
so it's prompted by that
The relevant part of Jeff's statement is "we're not going to ban heroes in game because of lore", not "we consider killing someone off"
Who says that blizzard would do the exact same thing
i dont know why youre denying it so much
They wouldn't. That's what the interview was about
as for Zenyatta "not being needed"
Very few of the characters are "needed" for the story
Look if it happens, it happens, if ur mad, too bad
...what are you on about
as for Zenyatta "not being needed"
Very few of the characters are "needed" for the story
some characters won’t even be present in the OW2 story at all, so Zen got lucky
all heroes get a story though so itss fineee
If blizzard decide to kill a character, then that’s done, if you’re not happy about it, too bad, that’s just how it is
...okay? what does that have to do with me
I’m just saying in general
I don't think this is a good idea, especially in a hero shooter
I'm not saying it 100% won't happen obviously, because I'm not a psychic or a writer
I'm saying that 1) IMO this would be a bad idea, and 2) you're misrepresenting Jeff's words in the interview
I don’t mean to attack you if it looks like it, sorry
If you have points to argue with those, feel free to
I feel like there’s a lot of hidden anger behind that statement
for no reason, i can feel mei dying in the story
@cerulean ice lol, why?
Not saying that it will happen, but rein seems like the best candidate to die
She wasn't really revealed as a character, so why kill her?
In the event it does happen, I’d say Winston
Bold move
rein
In the event it does happen, I’d say Winston
@terse oar (sry for ping) but this-quite possibly, already looks like the truth
id say rein
We already saw in Zero about how he’d sacrifice himself for his friends, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he acts like a Martyr to bring back OW
Or blizzard could subvert all out expectations and kill someone like brig or dva
Could also (unlikely) be Doomfist since he’s the “main” antagonist
Now it will be PURELY my hypothesis, which is likely to be false, but this is pure speculation. Experts of lore - do not hit.
Perhaps Jack/Ana will sacrifice himself and kill the Reaper - I think this is more or less logical
But it's not going to be Mei or any of the new recruits
To be fair no matter who they kill people will be angry because canonically their main is dead
Not for an in-universe reason, but because it would be a jarring shift of tone
And that might anger a lot of people
They wouldn't do that for their optimistic world
Killing of a new recruit wouldn’t really make sense either
They wouldn't do that for their optimistic world
OW is optimistic?
yes
I imagine with Doomfist they'll just put him in jail every time
There’s the possibility for a side character dying, let’s say if Iggy survives the tracer chronicles, she dies in a null sector mission (hypothetical of course)
Overwatch isn't grimdark it's not 40k or Halo
Overwatch despite some of it's themes it's very upbeat and colourful
OW is definitely optimistic compared to others games, but there are still some dark elements
it's not good but it's not grimdark
Surprisingly if you look in-depth at the cinematics, all of them are quite dark
Well, I don't find the story of Sigma, for example, optimistic
Like half the heroes have either PTSD or trauma lol
that's
not true
Surprisingly if you look in-depth at the cinematics, all of them are quite dark
@swift mason I agree
*my statement was meant to be an exaggeration
Reapers flesh basically melts off and regenerates all the time
I wouldn't say that's the most optimistic thing
But to be fair
Feels like you're deliberately ignoring the point
if he takes too much damage itll delay
That's background detail
There's dark undertones and shitty things happening all over
But when compared to other things Overwatch is very up beat
including a budding worldwide conflict
The world ain't a good place
But the tone of the story they tell is optimistic
yes, we forgot genjis body was fucking sliced
But then the next issue is dark and gritty for no reason
The ultimate message is "there's a lot of shit but we're pulling through it because there's good people"
^
The ultimate message is "there's a lot of shit but we're pulling through it because there's good people"
@iron plume we know that's the obvious theme
I think the ending with the sacrifice of S76 to kill the Reaper is quite possible
Apparently not everyone does because people keep banging on how about akchually it's dark
Honestly Soldier 76 is pretty scary, Reaper just kills you but Soldier might beat you too death
Like he did with that one guy in his animated short
These. Aren’t. Your. Streets. Anymore
well hes scary but he wouldnt kill you for no reason
^
But still I'd rather be killed by Reaper
He drains the corpses of life, so I guess you’ll at least be used for something in death
He drains the corpses of life, so I guess you’ll at least be used for something in death
@terse oar yeah
Lol
Well, Yes, in his animation, he had a little too much anger, but I don't think he is ready to do this to everyone he meets. After all this gang was a bunch of assholes
Except for that one Russian guy he killed, imagine seeing purple lady push past you and then being choked out by death himself
That dude kinda died for nothing to lol
What Russian guy?
A Volskayan security guard in Infiltration
oh
The Russian guy Reaper choked to death in Sombras short
Actually... Reaper killed like 5 guards...
It's just that you change topics so abruptly that I'm already confused XD
In general, I don't think that a short film with Volskaya is logical. Why does she have so little security?
Unless you have plot armour like Soldier 76
He tanked a point blank shotgun round from Reaper in Anas second comic
That was because of the soldier enhancement
how british of u
Naw if you want plot armor/unreasonable perfection - Winston
lol
Winston is thicc boi who takes Reapers shotguns
Then again by game logic he should be dead
Dude, Winston is a huge mutant gorilla from the moon who has super-intelligence. I don't think it's necessary to look for such a logical logic
also he wears armor
You're right I should stop overthinking the universe with a post apocalyptic Australia and Hammers and gamers in robot suits
Just the outback is post-apocalyptic
and how would you tell the difference from now anyway
Radiation
Scrap metal everywhere
Ruined Ominum
Savage Junker raiders who'd kill you for your stuff
yeah so nothing changed
Again, Australia isn't
Outback might well be
Even then, Junkertown isn't the whole outback
the omnium explosion, big as it is, wouldn't affect the entire middle of the country
for all we know the whole thing may be an area with the radius of like
50 km
offtop, but, it turns out Roadhog can't live without his gasmask?
where'd you get that from
He just uses it because it scares people and because it makes using his healing gas easier
He traded with the engineer at Junkertown for cylinders of special gas that keeps him alive, didn't he?
yes
yes
Yes
But he has a massive stash of it in his house
It's like a medication he needs regularly
okay, i understand
So he's hording some just in case or he himself knows how to make it
He can fill his filters with this gas, but he can't produce it itself
If I understand correctly
Oh
damn
gtg
yes, since he buys them anyways
👋
Are those yellow goo and Moira primary fire one?
No not that
no
In the Junkertown first attack spawn your in Roadhogs house and in his house there's a massive jar with his yellow healing goo
It’s radiation medication
Succ up the rads and eat em
It's probably a similar material but it's not Moiras
Wait a sec
I am sure that the AK-47 was ahead of its time, but not so much
damn...
I can't send photos
Okay, I'll describe it in words. Why is the bandit, from the soldier 76 video at the moment 3:16-3:17 armed with an AK-47, which is already considered obsolete?
The AK-47 is already considered a fairly old weapon. It's like going out with the first colt revolver to fight against modern pistols.
Moreover, this is not some kind of pulse modification, etc. This is a regular Kalashnikov, with shell casings and so on
Either this is a blunder, or it's some lost in time bandits
prolly like their only weapons
the policewoman on zero hour used an old gun
i think?
wait a sec
Looks like FAMAS, but heavily upgraded
But the problem is different. They do not even have an AK modification, but an ordinary, I would even say historical (by OW standards) sample
Bastions used normal bullets
They don’t have any sort of pulse modifications either, basically just a today machine gun
I'm not talking so much about bullets, but about the weapons themselves. AK is already obsolete
Although... given the fact that we have a junk gun that shoots better than a pulse weapon, I think this is an unnecessary question
AK is pretty reliable imo
It's good gun
Also a shit ton of em were made
So they are probably really easy to come by in the OW universe
And like I said it's the stereotypical low tech baf guy gun
Okay, let's not pay attention to this, but rather just enjoy the story
But Kalashnikov will still remain a mystery to me xD
anyway gtg

(I know this is an emote for Rez, but it looks like she’s waving)

i mean guns today can still kill people in the future
just less deadlier than a pulse gun

@proud pike Maybe not the original AK47 but some sort of modernized models
I dont think rioters can aquire those pulse/energy weapons easily, so they have to use guns that shoot bullets
Yeah advanced tech would usually go to characters or groups with high influence or money
I think we underestimate how terrifying the Omnic Crisis was, yeah for super solders and powered armoured folk killing a 100 Bastions would be GG EZ but for your shit tier pleb soldier it wouldn't be
Like in Reinhardts animated short the Normal Soldiers couldn't do anything unless they used heavy weapons like Rockets
I mean, Bastions are a symbol of fear
That was the main plot point of Torbs second comic
hamston is in the lore
Yeah Hammond is canon
yes
Okay sometimes Soldier reminds me of a less edgy Punsiner.
So that got me thinking how good would he be with other guns like I know he has a preference for Pulse rifles since he actively gotten out of his way to get one, but he has a pistol on his hip and in his concept art he has all sorts of weapons
One that took my eye was a silenced SMG
@supple badge The Pulse Rifle is just his most recent weapon.
But in the lore he used a older model
A assult rifle with Blue bullets
But for gameplay purposes, it performs identically
Its the same with Sniper Ana or Captain Ana's rifles
No I'm not talking skins
They are both just normal rifles
He used some sort of older pulse rifle during his command of Overwatch
This is the gun he used during his command of Overwatch
Because the gun wasn't a AR
They are not pulse rifles
They are
Source
Do they look like assult rifles
Yes
No they don't
If they are assult rifles where is the magazine
There's the rail to attach scopes and sighs
AR stands for ArmaLite, not assault rifle
Imma halo player we use AR for Assault Rifle
If they are assult rifles where is the magazine
@supple badge Presumably the same place as the magazine on Widowmaker's SMG
Which is inside the gun
A lot of guns in Overwatch have internal bullet feeds. Bastion's arm isn't exactly a rifle but its magazine is stored internally
Then you have the Talon Troopers, who also use some kind of rifle or smg
I don't know the weapon semantics
But I do know that Soldier 76's current gun is the Heavy Pulse Rifle, and his former gun is not
I know they are not the same gun
The only gun with a visible magazine is Sombra's machine pistol, afaik.
The magazine not being visible is a non-argument for Overwatch guns
You make discussing lore unfun
His name is Hammond
@limpid agate take a joke jeez
You make discussing lore unfun
@supple badge EXACTLY
You make discussing lore unfun
@supple badge technically this is ''serious'' channel, but you're a little right
@vernal cloud Final warning
what do you mean i literally didnt do anything
You make discussing lore unfun
What are you expecting, people to blindly agree to things whether or not they are correct?
This is a discussion channel. The purpose is for discussion
ok but the first time i say anything even when i didnt know this was serious, you sh*tpost it without a though
thought*
and then when other people do the same thing you just tell them
its not fair
instead of giving them a warning
You've had multiple, and now you're randomly joining a discussion to say take a joke for no reason
ive had one were you immediatly gave me a warning without an explanation.
and thats it
and then i got an explanation from admin because you didnt explain it.
You've been warned by other staff members too. If you have any further questions or complaints, dm @sullen pagoda
This channel is for serious discussion strictly related to the lore.
no i havnt but ok im just not gunna type in this chat bc of you tbh.
This channel is mostly serious discussion about the lore
I’ve heard the other channels aren’t as strict but I don’t really visit the other channels so I wouldn’t know
The only gun with a visible magazine is Sombra's machine pistol, afaik.
Don’t Junkrat and Baptiste also have them
Junkrat's gun doesn't shoot bullets
I should have specified bullet firing weapons.
As for Baptiste's, I need to look at that again, but I think you're just talking about the grenades again?
Yeah you're right, Baptiste has an external drum barrel on his
I think you can see a little of the bullets
There’s no magazine for it
Her light gun
Not her mech's
And that is a good counter-arguement for the opposite, thanks
A non-bullet gun that has a magazine
Oh, yeah her light gun does
Would Lucio count as well since you can see him put it in the gun while reloading?
That's the same as Soldier's
The discussion was about how Soldier's gun doesn't have this
Sticking out
Ah, ok
Heroes like Soldier and Widow, as well as Talon Troopers, have their gun's ammo stored internally
So there is no visible magazine
While Sombra/Baptiste have external magazines, and McCree/D.Va's is much like a standard handgun.
The discussion was about how Soldier's gun doesn't have this
@limpid agate
In general, the initial question was: "Why do bandits use historically outdated weapons in the future
Same reason why Hanzo fights with a bow and Genji fights with shurikens and a sword. Its just stylish for the character design.
You could make the argument that they can't afford/create the top of the line equipment that Soldier or Sombra use.
But McCree's is a customized one of a kind hand cannon with unique ammunition designed just for it
Soldier's pulse rifle is also an experimental new design
And Hanzo uses an extremely expensive bow/customized tech arrows
Why Rein is so big? Is he a super soldier or he just big like that?
He is just big
Maybe the crusader training program made them big enough to wear the armor
hes naturally big

They were likely recruited to the program because they were so big
Could you imagine if the Crisaders had to go through that horrorfying painful surgery the Space Marines of 40k have to go though
Thank god they are just big boys with fancy armour
Lol
I got the Overwatch art book and in one of the pages it shows you how the Bastion drop pods work
Basically it crams 9 Bastions into one pod
Imagine that
Your just some random guy going to work and during your ride to work your city gets invaded by the Omnics and a drop pod lands in front of you and deploys 9 Bastions
Talk about over kill
And think about it
These drop pods would be deployed in mass so your town or city could easily overrun with Bastions
But I feel like asides from Bastions the other Omnic crisis era Omnics would be pretty scary alongside a army of Bastions
Speaking of Omnic crisis era machines how many do you know, I know of the
Bastions
Titians
OR-14's
Spider crab artillery tanks
Warships
And I think there were the humaniod Omnics used as factory workers I don't remember
Name every Omnic type lol
!!wiki Omnic
For more information about the game, please refer to the wiki: https://overwatch.gamepedia.com/Omnic

Lame
But I hope we get proper Omnic crisis content in the future
Like maybe a OW2 prequel dlc campaign missions featuring the OG crew
Fighting all the Omnic crisis robots
Im pretty sure that the whole main storyline for OW2 is a second global omnic crisis, I say global because Russia has been in its 2nd omnic crisis for quite a bit
Image being a working driving your car to work and just across from your work Zarya and bunch of Russain Soldiers are still fighting Bastion units
After the original Omnic crisis
That was 20 something years ago
Zarya is only in her late 20's (yes, it surprised me too) so she wouldn't have fought in the 1st one (for obvious reasons)
I know
The warships remind me a lot of COD:IW
I'm saying the Russians have been fighting the same war for years
It's not correct to say they are going through a second Omnic crisis
They are still fighting the First one
In recall, the news lady on the screen, Olympia Shaw, explicitly says '2nd omnic crisis in russia'
Because Voskaya is doing dirty deals with the mechanical mence
Is defense matrix ever explained
What do you mean?
I think it vaporizes projectiles.
it just helps her aim
the idea is that she's shooting the projectiles out of the air herself
in-game it does the "aiming" automatically for you and just deletes the projectiles
It's like those machine gun towers on battleships that shoot incoming missiles automatically
Like the air defenses in Uprising
it fires a beam from incoming projectiles in its vicinity
It can shoot down a black hole
That’s gameplay, we don’t know how it compares in lore
It can shoot a dynamite without making it explode
That’s gameplay, we don’t know how it compares in lore
🐧
The missiles it blocks in Shooting Star still explode
Ingame it's just a negation mechanic
In lore it's just a thing that helps D.va shot down tangible projectiles like rockets and bullets and they explode when shot
^^
Most of the stuff the characters do in lore are more toned down
Except for Reinhardt and the rest of the crusaders
Lmao
The action scenes in Reins short are so good
Charge into bastion big brain
Ingame: death.
In the short: epic fighting game finisher
I mean, he charged into an OR14
That’s how his eye got injured
idk why firestrike is a thing but it exists in the bastion cinematic so
Because the Fire strike in the animations isn't a fire ball it's raised rock and dirt from the ground flung so fast it deals damage and can shatter Bastion armour and kill them
Yeah it’s nutty
Ingame it's just a negation mechanic
In lore it's just a thing that helps D.va shot down tangible projectiles like rockets and bullets and they explode when shot
@supple badge I think it shoot automatically, she just needs to activate it
You can see her rapidly pressing the buttons to shoot

She does it manually
Sus
She’s gotta raise her APM
Sus
God gamer
It's kinda like how Zarya has broken a world record with her weight lifting
D.va has very very very good APM
Yeah zarya cracked
That’s kinda cool ngl
Zaryas gun was ripped off a tank
Her current gun is presumably modified for easier use
I mean yeah
But originally it was a tank gun
Yes
It’s the Russians
Given how Russia has massive titian mechs they must of tanks with laser canons
Also their newest Mech from the Sombra short uses the same Tech as Zaryas
But unfortunately Rpeaper killed all those mechs and their pilots
What is APM
actions per minute
Yeah that was big oof
Overwatch is a strategy game? Or am I like really stupid?
wasn't it one of those guns on the volskia mechs?
Was a tank?
overwatch is a team based hero shooter
I mean it uses strategy?
Zaryas gun was a tank gun that was later upgraded to Zaryas modern kit and they then put Zaryas kit into a mech
Big brain
I was kinda right
So it wasn't a tank exactly but it was ripped off a heavy vehicle
Oh ok
But yeah it was super heavy tho
Only Zaryas GLORIOUS muscles can lift it without aid
Lmaoo
She cracked
Looks heavy as shot tho
What’s the lord behind junks gun? Is there any

that's pretty much it, actually
Same can be said for Roadhogs gun
It’s literally called scrap gun lmao
His gun is made out of mostly random crap
Junkrat isn't stupid, he's just unhinged
Thats why people always underestimate him
Junkrat is actually quite sadistic if you think about it
Remember when he hung a CEO and then blew up his skyscraper
Presumably killing hundreds of workers and staff
In the first Junkrat and Roadhog coming called "going legit"
Yeah you can read it on the Blizzard website I think or download a PDF
Will do
Even though I don't like the OW2 talon trooper design I gotta give Blizzard props of consistency
Because the OW2 talon goons look like the Talon troops of Winstons recall short and Mccrees train hopper comic
It was a good look
I loved the Edgy stormtrooper look of the SR Talon troopers
But the OW2 look is alright but mostly consistent with the timeline
Since that armour set was probably a older uniform
And the sleeveless cevlar look is the newer uniform
Yeah but less protection overall
Their helmets popped off when shot in the face if you remember
Probably make new headshot death animations or just have them ragdoll
It's probably to make them look more human
Lmaoo
Genji was a playboy soundcloud gangster with no honour and that made Hanzo angry
Yes
So once their dad died Hanzo and Genji had a epic starwars sword fight
Hanzo won by cutting Genji into gorey chunks
He met an egirl who wants to do things with and now he has a better sword than hanzo
Sums the rest up
Lmao 😂
Hanzo is presumably still better with a sword but he doesn't use them anymore
Because he felt shame after gutting genji with one
True but I’m basing it off of the fight from dragons I think it’s called
Sojiro's death was "untimely" and may have been orchestrated by the clan elders because he wouldn't do what they wanted (i.e. work with Talon)
That was the latest fight of them if I’m not mistaken
He met an egirl who wants to do things with
Yes, Dragons was their most recent fight
who?
Mercy is not an egirl
Sojiro's death was "untimely" and may have been orchestrated by the clan elders because he wouldn't do what they wanted (i.e. work with Talon)
@peak escarp this is true because of Hanzos voicelines and his families honour
Yeah they did
she's a doctor
It’s a joke. :/
this isn't a place for jokes

We just described genji and hanzo backstory as a joke
:/
they stayed the night on gibraltar
@desert yarrow he’s making great progress though. Hope to see more lore to that in the future
@desert yarrow he’s making great progress though. Hope to see more lord to that in the future
the genji mercy interactions gonna no longer be pg
Oh god
Yeah lmao
Well that was obvious tho
Just I want to see how it works out
If anything ever does become of it
Probably gunna be a dumb kiss scene after some big boss fight Genji and Mercy had to beat

Maybe you never know
They kinda left my boy lucio for lore tho
I want more
But the genji mercy lore could be easily built upon and it’s nice to see how they take it
Lucìo is going to be a main character don't worry
Hes a part of the crew in the rio mission and presumably joins Overwatch after it
Probs a main antagonist
And if there are Talon missions he's probably going to be playable
Oh
Well Reaper is well fleshed out tbh
He's appeared in many shorts and comics
And the Retribution mission gave him more character
And the Retribution prequel comic went more In depth with his character
he was soldier 24
they were friends in the SEP
soldier Enhancement program
USA's answer to the omnic crisis
Lmao
then Morrison and Reyes got picked for Overwatch
Yeah Jack was Soldier 76 and Gabriel was Soldier 24
we don't know yet
We know he did change tho
Felt betrayed by Overwatch
I'm pretty sure he was jealous of Jack
Yeah Reaper was the OG strike commander
Jack got to be leader of Overwatch even though Gabriel thought he was more qualified
his friendship with Morrison started to fall apart after the Venice Incident (Retribution) and after Ana went MIA nobody was there to mediate
But after their first mission Jack got that job and he was demoted to command Blackwatch
it wasn't a demotion
It felt like one
Idk have you seen the characters in Blackwatch
Reyes didn't want the responsibility and pressure of being in charge
I think he wanted to be in charge
Blackwatch gave him freedom to do whatever
That's why he was jealous of Morrison
he didnt care about being in charge
Especially of renegades like Genji, Moira and Mccree
Organising them must of been a nightmare
This was Blackwatch Genji too so he was filled with rage and angst
Moira was probably doing double dealings with Talon at the time
So then why the betrayal?
Its like you said earlier
The events of Retribution and Anas "death" started breaking their friendship
they are taking their time with the story
Which is good and bad
Good because it'll be indepth and have plenty of time to be fleshed out
Bad because long lore droughts
So who would be the main antagonist of Overwatch? I don't think it's Reaper
they haven't been that long
Doomfist?
the main antagonist is Null Sector
and whoever leads them
Talon is just helping them
It could be Maximilien
Yeah that would be dope
in the gameplay trailer
Could be that he's just planning to betray the others
he's a coward
he's already sold out Doomfist once before, he would do it again if it would benefit himself
He’s selfish
Yeah but control them from behind
Letting Doomfist think he's in control
from the gameplay trailer:
Maximilien: I can't do this.
Doomfist: You made your choice. Nobody will stop us.
Max is having second thoughts about waging war on humanity
I think he might betray Talon and go to Overwatch for help
he has cooperated with them before
Maybe
he's been getting a lot of attention in the story, so he must be important somehow
the Omnica Corporation built omnics to help the economy and work in manufacturing
I don't want Maxlilien to join Overwatch
but they promised more than they could deliver and were eventually shut down for fraud and corruption
I feel like if Max sells out Doom again he'll have him killed
not join Overwatch, just work with them
as an informant
yep
nobody knows why the omniums reactivated
or why the omnics attacked
Null Sector are separatists and terrorists
Null Sector are driffent from the Omnic crisis omnics
My personal theory is that the God AI's took over the omnics and used them to try and destroy humanity
Null Sector's first appearance was 7 years ago, with the King's Row Uprising
Talon is a massive criminal/terrorist organisation
They have their toes dipped in
Terrorism
Gun running
Selling weapons of mass destruction
Drugs
Murder
Fraud
Wonton destruction
Funding other terrorist groups (Null Sector presumably)
Causing divides between humans and Omnics
Money lurndering
And so much more
Wonton destruction
