In my small brain, it makes sense that possibly Gabriel joined Talon because he already knew him, or something like that. Considering that relationships got quite tense between S76 and Reaper, if Liao did not like S76 like Reaper, for different reasons possibly, he went off to him. Interesting. I've noticed that his discord and harmony orbs are accompanied by constructive or destructive criticisms and emotional support. I felt like they were associated with healing or destructive words being more powerful coming from him somehow. Like he could get into a person's mind to strengthen or weaken them. he may have said that about Zen but that's still going to be my headcanon until something more canon comes out about it. He did say "necessarily" which means they could find some way to explain it if they wanted to later, but they either hadn't really cared to put it together in a piece or maybe it's just not relevant to the character.

Legitimate question, what exactly do you think Junkrat, Roadhog, Hammond and the other non-overwatch or talon characters have to do with the overall lore? This was a war many countries thought they were prepared to fight. But no single country, no matter how powerful its military, could permanently shut down a single omnium.
