plus a few from their backstories, like ALF Hog and Doctor Mercy
there's a few I'd really like to see, but on the whole, there aren't a lot
about half the heroes don't have anything (or already have every lore-based outfit they could have)

I think the whole what one considers themself is a bit deeper than just a single label; Like she and reinhardt aren't simply a singular thing and story writing wise to write someone off as a specific one thing is bad writing which I think they want to avoid.
Ana for example is a sniper but also a withholding mother and friend and freedom fighter/vigilante. She's a bunch more.
Tracer in this case I don't think deep down views herself as a Pilot; She knows she is a pilot, that's not something you bury down it's just another name/title/accolade that she built up for herself and nothing more. And Tracer is her call sign but I'm failing to see what Tracer and flying planes has to do with eachother
