@rain arrow The short looked nice and had some cool details and developed her personality to show her semi-serious side, but... It didnt accomplish much after that. The dialogue felt like it was mostly forced exposition, the kaiju was just put into a flashback still as defeated. Other than the Origin Story stills, the rest of her crew is never even seen, let alone their mechs or them actually fighting in them. DVa is still detatched from the rest of the cast, and even the plot that happened was just DVa being the best at everything and not needing anyone else, even if the point of the short was the exact opposite. She didnt develop as a character over it, and the asking for help thing felt forced, especially as she still did most of the job herself afterwards.
Also her buddy is a mechanic, and he's shown to be relaxing and eating while DVa does all the mechanic stuff.
I thought that was silly and just pushing her more into "best at everything" territory
