#White bias?

I’m not trying to stir up controversy here, so please take this observation as it is, without any criticism.

During the cabaret contest, I created prompts that featured black musicians passionately playing various instruments, particularly the bass. Most of the styles I selected performed quite well in fulfilling the prompt.

Next, I selected the “Enhance -> Photorealistic” option. Surprisingly, all the black musicians were transformed into white musicians. Intrigued by this phenomenon, I repeated this process with several of my creations, and the same result consistently occurred.

I didn’t experiment with adjusting the “creativity” slider or exploring other options like “Anime.” I solely focused on the “Photorealistic” setting.

I’m curious about the best practices for maintaining racial consistency when utilizing the Enhance feature.

There is, without a doubt, a white bias in the default engine models; Luna, RealvisXL, the enhancement engine, and so on.

I've seen the reason explained as those models being trained on biased samples brought about by the bias of society, which stinks but I guess could be true if it's not corrected for.

I haven't seen that bias as much in the fusion model used for pro users, but I haven't looked nearly as close as I should.

As for best practices, keeping the creativity very low is the only thing I've seen work to any extent.

Running the enhanced image back through another model might work as well, but it might defeat the purpose as well.

That's a lot of words to say, the models are biased, some more than others, and I do not know the steps being taken to fix that, but I've personally sensed progress.

As for enhance, this is a style trained on a very narrow amount of data. You can see that the style inserts mostly one and the same face. You can try to fix this by entering in the prompt to use an image of a famous person or actor. The same with other styles.

I have heard the explanation that in order for the "enhance" style to give good results, there would have to be many styles, each for a different ethnic group
