On low end computers (such as mine), simultaneous turns are mandatory to avoid a 5-minutes wait every turn.

I do not like the simultaneous system, but it could be cool if players can always choose, so +1.
But on story realms, perhaps sequential is needed because of some story scripts ?
And you know, the faster manner to do for a program is sequential. The time gained is an illusion because sequential or not, each player have to make their own moves.

yes it is disabled for technical reasons, if it was possible it would already be an option
