#Why are Age of Wonders III cities superior in design to AoW4? Farm alteration.

Hint: They aren't! But houses growing outside their walls made them look so massive compared to AoW4.

How to add that on AoW4 without ruining readability? Easy: Make houses grow around farms like mushrooms on a petri dish.

And the best part? You ALREADY have the house assets from each culture so it would be minimum work, maximum benefits. BAM! Easy massive cities. You can now be the Lord of Aesthetics. They could also grow around the city's province. It makes sense, doesn't it?

Let mines remain mines, but turn cities into province-large cities and farms into villages!

this but also in farms. It's not like you need to hit the right hex, since as long as you're in the province it works

Honestly id like if they just did a few small culture houses around all the province improvements, basically like little outskirt villages, since miners and foresters need homes too. I think it would go a long way to make the map feel more alive

I'd like to see more growth with buildings in a city's domain (around the city) as it grows in size and population

And AoW4 cities aren't bad. In fact the design is as great as everything else, but because they're so small they seem like a castle sometimes.

I get its right outside the main wall of the city but It's right outside the main wall of the city! you should have a gate/stone road, more buildings on the attackers side (please we want buildings all over the map it makes t more alive and feel more flushed.) At the very least buildings on the left and right side of the map

Planetfall had a better idea I feel like as map layput goes, it's a city attack there should be buildings and ally fights and cav going around the side.
