It would be neat if there was a way to give whispering stones to vassals of enemy nations so you could influence them and eventually start a coup to a government friendly to you, without it being considered an act of war. Perhaps a grievance.
As it is, vassals really aren't that interesting even with recent improvements.
At the same time, I'd really like to see a mechanic where you could individually alter the tax rate of vassals to help manipulate their relation towards you. A vassal suffering under high taxes might make a tempting target for enemy rulers to try to "flip."
