I'm playing Mystic, and the hero from Feudal culture Free City is able to choose Feudal Lord ability.

This seems like a considerable oversight that you can have unique Feudal traits even when you don't play Feudal. Moreover, this does not make sense from the perspective of presentation: Hero becomes a "Lord" not because a hero has some inherit ability to become a "Lord", but because it's Feudal culture that produces those "Lords". And other cultures don't have the institute of "Lordship", so why it's relevant to them? This robs Feudal culture of its uniqueness, tbh.

Their service is contingent on maintaining their social status.

On the contrary that's awesome. Gives other cultures some value through function and disincentivizes genocide.

If you don't like the name and governance terminology then consider them as administrators. Stackeholders. Mayors. Despots. Higher management. Productivity overseers. Peristent advisors. Leaders. Representatives. That dude that COOKS. Whatever else.
